As "Buwan ng Wika" draws to a close, imagine bidding farewell with a celebration that captures the heart of Filipino culture in all its colors and sounds. Unravel the richness of the Filipino language with our collection of deep words that are rarely used. Dive into the world of Tagalog words and discover the beauty, nuances, and complexity of this vibrant language.
Some of the Filipino words that you donโt know exist.
Fun fact: The pre-colonial writing script of the Tagalogs in the Philippines is Baybayin, an alphabet with 17 symbols that represent 14 consonants (katinig) and 3 vowels (patinig); it was initially used to sign documents, write poetry, and communicate before we were introduced to the alphabet we know today.

THE LAST LETTER TO THE LOVER I NEVER HAD
Farewells are never my thing, but I bade you goodbye
I never knew it was the last glimpse I had of you
Forgive me if I never returned the spark in your eyes
If only I'd realized then, I'd pull out these words from my tongue.

Ninoy Aquino Day is annually celebrated every 21st of August. This is to commemorate the assassination of former Senator Benigno "Ninoy" Aquino, Jr., the husband of Corazon Aquino, who later became the eleventh Philippine President. He was assassinated on August 21, 1983, on the tarmac of Manila International Airport (now named Ninoy Aquino International Airport in his honor).
The flame for freedom and democracy that burns brightly inside every Filipino's soul was stoked by Ninoy's passing. His passing will always be marked in this nation's history. This day will always honor the life and contributions of a cherished freedom hero.
