In some way that we, as students can help and improve our country. So, that the next generation won't experience these things.
Here are 10 ways to reduce food waste.
Food waste and hunger in the Philippines; How food is insufficient and wasted.
Will the next generation keep on experiencing this?
One of the most overt representations of abject poverty in the Philippines is the pagpag. For the most part, it might be simple to write off pagpag as "kababuyan" or "kadiri," two strong Tagalog words that are unmatched in the English language. But we must keep in mind that the pagpag is essential to the daily survival of thousands of people.
The existence of the pagpag is due to poverty, not because there are starving people who feed on them. When we view the issue from the perspective of the impoverished, the sight of people eating rubbish ceases to be unsettling and even repugnant to many of us. Instead, it becomes manna from heaven.

Some people might ask? What is Pagpag?
"Pagpag" is known as an essential survival food in the poorest slums of the Philippines. Basically, 'pagpag' is a leftover food thrown out from restaurants or fast food chains. Because of extreme poverty, people are forced to eat this what we call 'pagpag'. Consuming pagpag is still extremely risky and nutritionally deficient despite a strict regimen of repeated cleaning and deep-frying.
The scavengers treats pagpag as their comfort food as they are much better than asin at gulay which they are accustomed to for the daily. There are many disadvantages in eating these leftover foods; it leads to stunted growth in children, and heightens the risk of having hepatitis A, cholera, and typhoid.

We'd like to introduce you to "The Pagpag Survival Campaign," which enables us students to raise awareness of the problem facing our country today and to share our thoughts and opinions on it.
The campaign draws attention to the serious issues resulting from the high volume of perfectly edible food that is wasted, and
seeks to change attitudes and behaviors so that food waste can be significantly reduced around the world. At the heart of this challenge is how to grow economies and generate employment in a way that keeps humanity’s footprint within planetary boundaries.
