Hunyo 23, 2022 – Ikinagagalak ng Kagawaran ng Edukasyon (DepEd) ang napapanahong pagpapalabas ng Executive Order No. 174 na pinamagatang Establishing the Expanded Career Progression System for Public School Teachers.

Opisyal na lilikha ang EO ng mga bagong posisyon tulad ng Teacher IV, Teacher V, Teacher VI, Teacher VII, at Master Teacher V at magsusulong ng professional development at career advancement sa mga g**o ng pampublikong paaralan.

Ang DepEd, na nagkataong nagdiriwang ng kanyang ika-124 na anibersaryo ng pagkakatatag ngayon araw, ay nagpapasalamat kay Pangulong Rodrigo Roa Duterte para sa makasaysayang polisiya na magpapalawak ng classroom teaching career line at magbibigay ng merit-based career progression opportunities.

Hindi magiging posible ang pangunahing pag-unlad na ito sa basic education landscape kung wala ang dedikasyon at pamumuno ni outgoing Education Secretary Leonor Magtolis Briones, na nagtaguyod sa pinalawak na inisyatiba sa teacher career progression sa Gabinete at sa bawat hakbang ng proseso.

Makikipagtulungan tayo sa Civil Service Commission (CSC), sa Department of Budget and Management (DBM), at sa Professional Regulation Commission (PRC) sa pagbuo ng mga patakaran at regulasyon ng EO.

Gayundin, patuloy tayong bubuo ng mga programa upang matiyak na ang ating mga g**o ay patuloy na binibigyan ng motibasyon sa pagbibigay ng dekalidad na edukasyon para sa ating mga Pilipinong mag-aaral.

Consistent with its mandate to collect lawful revenues for the country, the Bureau of Customs surpassed its May 2022 target collection by 20.8% or P11.767 billion, with an actual collection of P68.245 B against the P56.478 B target collection.

Based on the preliminary report from the BOC-Financial Service, fifteen of the seventeen collection districts exceeded their target for the month; Port of San Fernando, Port of Manila, MICP, Ports of Batangas, Legaspi, Iloilo, Cebu, Tacloban, Cagayan de Oro, Zamboanga, Davao, Subic, Clark, Aparril, and Limay.

To date, the Bureau of Customs collected P322.472 billion since January reflecting the 47.5% of the 2022 annual target collection of P679.226 billion based on the same initial report.

Among the factors which contributed to the positive performance of the BOC since January this year include the improved valuation, intensified collection efforts, measures preventing revenue leakage, and the recovering economy of the country.

Despite this performance, the Bureau maintained its border security measures against undervaluation, misdeclaration and other forms of technical smuggling and collect lawful revenues. Commissioner Rey Leonardo Guerrero commended the efforts of the District Collectors and the men and women of the Bureau of Customs who, despite the risk to their health and safety, showed their unwavering commitment and dedication to service.
