Ang Divine Word College of Legazpi Grade School Library ay nakikiisa sa pambansang selebrasyon ng Buwan ng Panitikan 2024 ngayong Abril na may temang, “Ang Panitikan at Kapayapaan.” Ang selebrasyong ito ay pinangungunahan ng National Commission for Culture and the Arts, Komisyon sa Wikang Filipino, at National Book Development Board - Philippines.
Bago pa ang panahon ng mga Español, mayroon nang mayamang lawas ng panitikan sa Pilipinas. Nang mga panahong iyon, karaniwang binibigkas ang panitikan o ipinapasang salimbibig (vernacular literature) sa halip na nakasulat. Ang prekolonyal na panitikan ay isang gawaing pangkomunidad, isang pagtitipon-tipon ng pamayanan, at isang pinagsasaluhang ritwal. Kinikilala ng Pambansang Buwan ng Panitikang Filipino ang mahalagang papel ng panitikan sa pagkikintal sa darating na henerasyon ng mga pagpapahalagang minana natin mula sa ating mga ninuno.

To celebrate the artistic excellence and pay tribute to the uniqueness and diversity of the Filipino heritage and culture, the National Commission for Culture and the Arts (NCCA) leads the celebration of 2024 National Arts Month (NAM) by virtue of Presidential Proclamation No. 683, signed in 1991.
