ENCAMUSTAHAN: Welcoming and Orientation Program 2024 💚🍀

On February 7, 2024, its verdant tapestry of eco-consciousness unfolds. It filled us with gratitude and inspiration. It was more than just an event; it was a transformative experience that united us in our dedication to nurturing the environment. With the help of the constitutions, duties, and responsibilities that were stated and presented, they served as a bridge to strengthen the tranquility of this organization by conducting an organization ordinance that ENCA members should embody and act upon.

The ENCAMUSTAHAN: Welcoming and Orientation Program commenced with an opening prayer and was followed by the national anthem from Ms. Trixie C. Mañalac, the Vice President of the ENCA organization. Afterwards, an opening remark from Ms. Angelie C. San Juan, the President of the ENCA organization, gave a warm and insightful welcome message, and she then gave a summation of the organization and presented the finalized total number of members this year, 2024.

The orientation program commenced with an icebreaker by asking the members' experiences in forest moments from Ms. Maria Jenny Rose L. Maravilla, the Publicity Committee of the ENCA organization. She then presented, emphasized, and discussed the constitution well with all members, urging them to become aware of its implementation. Lastly, she presented the duties and responsibilities of all members by explaining them one by one. Ms. Mikaela A. Canimo, the treasurer, gave a well explanation regarding on the membership fee every term, and she presented the scope of this payment in order for us to become aware of the organization's funds. Afterwards, the amendments and other concerned matters were explained and delivered well by the President, Ms. Angelie C. San Juan. She then provided extensive knowledge to foster a deeper understanding of this organization.

Fun games and activities were commenced by the President and facilitated by the secretary, Ms. April Joy Roldan, together with Ms. Jean Alexis Targa, our membership committee, and Mr. Rick John Lester Pardilla, our educational committee. And we attained an enjoyable and enthusiastic moment. We want to extend our gratitude to our president and vice president for their endless energy that served as a bridge to a successful implementation. Of course, we want to thank our adviser, Prof. Cyren C. Oseña, for her unwavering support and approval regarding this activity.

When the activities were accomplished, awards and some prizes were given to appreciate their participation. To formally close the ENCAMUSTAHAN, closing remarks headed by our Vice President, to thank all the ENCAnians for their participation.

With passion as our compass and action as our guide, we embarked on a journey of discovery and empowerment. As we bid farewell to this chapter, we carry forward the momentum, armed with newfound knowledge and determination. Let’s keep the spirit alive and strive for a world where nature thrives and humanity coexists harmoniously.

It's nice to meet all of you and welcome to ENCA!

WORLD WETLANDS DAY 2024

On February 2, 2024, the ENCA organization participated in the celebration of World Wetlands Day 2024 at Lalaguna Marshland, headed and facilitated by the DENR-CENRO Calauag.

The activity started with a short orientation program to discuss the background and ways of conducting bird watching. Afterwards, they divided the volunteer students of PNU SL into three groups to reduce the number of students in one place because this activity should be conducted quietly. A short discussion in each group happened to gain some knowledge on how to protect and restore these fragile habitats for future generations. Then, they immediately proceeded to the Environmental Awareness Campaign at the PNU SL campus, where they conducted an exhibit and an environmental awareness campaign.

The selected officers of the ENCA organization, headed by the President, Ms. Angelie C. San Juan, the Vice President, Ms. Trixie C. Mañalac, and the Publicity Committee, Ms. Maria Jenny Rose L. Maravilla, led the participation in this celebration with volunteers Enca members to appreciate the significance of wetlands in Lalaguna Lopez, Quezon. They learned and witnessed the essence of wetlands and the value of raising awareness about the ecological, social, and economic importance of wetlands, which has a huge impact on promoting conservation, mitigating climate change, and supporting the well-being of both ecosystems and human communities.

It was a fabulous experienced that this organization was participating in the celebration. We want to extend our gratitude to Dr. Leah Amor S. Cortez, the Executive Director and Provost, for spearheading this impactful environmental event. And to our beloved adviser, Prof. Cyren C. Oseña, for her unwavering dedication support in attaining an organized collaboration with DENR-CENRO Calauag. A shining spotlight on the importance of wetlands conservation was raised.

SALIGSIGAN 2023

Part I

ENCA has joined the Accreditation and Re-accreditation at SALIGSIGAN 2023, held in PNUSL.

ENCA had been successfully re-accredited and presented to the PNUAns! Environmental words can promote enthusiastic care for the environment. This event gave us a lot of opportunities to widen our knowledge and to nurture and advocate environmental engineering to acknowledge the natural and ethical usage in sustaining the environment.

Since the first day of preparation, our dear ENCA officers want to thank all the ENCA members who showed efforts and dedication in helping us to attain this wonderful booth.

During the member hunting, we are pleased to welcome those new members who showed interest and willingness to become ENCAPamilya to navigate nature care through action. Let’s begin this academic year with meaningful collaboration to strengthen a healthy and safe environment. Let’s work together and be environmentalists. And we would like to thank and acknowledge our organization adviser, Professor Cyren C. Oseña.

World Turtle Day — May 23 23/05/2023

TODAY IS WORLD TURTLE DAY! 🐢

1. The shell is part of the skeleton.
The shell is the most distinguished part of a turtle and experts say that it is made of 50 bones!

2. It is one of the most illegally traded animals.
Turtles and tortoises are illegally traded for their meat, shell, and skin — this has led to the endangerment of the creatures.

3. There are 300 species of turtles.
Turtles may all look the same to us but there are actually 300 species of them — of these, 129 are endangered.

4. Turtles are cold-blooded animals.
Turtles are cold-blooded animals with a slow metabolism — their long lifespan is often attributed to this.

5. They are one of the oldest creatures to be found.
The first turtles existed 200 million years ago alongside dinosaurs!

Forests have become part of our lives.

Today is the International Day of Forests also known as World Forestry Day with the theme 'Forests and Health'.

To celebrate this day, let's talk about your own forest experience. If you won't mind sharing, we will be glad to hear you out.

Ikaw, anong foreSTORY mo?

20/03/2023

Life is about balance, about give and take.
And forests, give us so much.
They purify our water.
They clean our air.
They fight climate change by capturing carbon.
They give us food, life-saving medicines and they improve our well-being.
But our forests are vulnerable.
They are endangered by fires, pests, droughts and other threats.
That is why we need to look after them.
We need to give, not only take.
Healthy forests for healthy people.
