Ho Ho Ho! 🎅 The holidays are nearing, and our stockings are filled with presents! 🎁💝
This season, we are giving forward to communities catered by Kwentuhan Series, our encouraging partner for Saranggola. 🪁 No matter the distance, joy has been given to the children of Paete, Laguna.
In line with the Sustainable Development Goal 4: Quality Education, the goal of strengthening the literacy 📚 and numeracy 1️⃣2️⃣3️⃣ skills of children were the prime objectives of the project. Besides our volunteer program for virtual tutoring and storytelling, the Saranggola team was able to procure a sum of Php 23,500 from our notable partners and donors. This amount was used in curating school supply kits and books for the children. We could not have done it without everyone who supported this project! 🌟
Truly, “No act of kindness, no matter how small, is ever wasted.” – Aesop
Thank you for shedding light on these children’s futures! Let us continue to soar to new heights to fulfill the vision. 📖

With the continuous struggle of indigenous communities in the Philippines, MugKwentuhan Tayo! has provided youth spaces that highlight the realities of Indigenous Filipino farmers through focus group discussions and knowledge transfer sessions. There is no better way to encourage youth participation in the agricultural sector other than the power of story-telling shared by the Indigenous Filipino farmers themselves.🌱
However, don’t take our word for it! ✋
Let’s hear more about the key takeaways they’ve gotten and what it’s like to volunteer with MugKwentuhan Tayo! from our very own awesome volunteers! 🤩
“It’s a beautiful day to save lives” and follow the stories of our fellow AIESECers!
Movies and shows have always spoken to the hearts of countless viewers, and have even inspired them to greater heights 🏔.

Last month, MugKwentuhan Tayo! was able to conduct knowledge transfer sessions, focus group discussions, and 2 podcast recordings that highlighted the narratives of Indigineous Filipino farmers and the value of community development through social entrepreneurship.
Now, we have asked some of our former LakBayani: MugKwentuhan Tayo! Cycle 1 volunteers what were their first impressions, key takeaways, and memorable experiences from the opportunity! 🌱
Let’s hear what it’s like to volunteer with MugKwentuhan Tayo! from our very own awesome pioneers! 🤩
“Ang bawat bata sa ating mundo
ay may pangalan, may karapatan.” 🎶🧸
Sadly, this old tune from the Apo Hiking Society does not ring true anymore. In the Philippines, countless children are robbed of their innocence and forced to live a life of sexual exploitation — a life wherein patintero and Chinese garter are distant memories while nights with paying strangers are the reality.
To rub salt into the wound, our contemporary culture creates an environment that allows this exploitation to fester. What are seemingly normal things we hear and see daily, may have already been symptoms of our society’s inability to protect our children.
Hence, this Universal Children’s Day, let us open our eyes and call for better child protection services.

With literacy having a short definition, the ability to read and write, understanding this term becomes deceptively binary. Quantifying one’s ability to read and write is not as simple as it seems.
This Global Media and Information Literacy Week, let's learn more about this topic and how we can effectively practice it.
Studies show that children are vulnerable to mental health problems too. That’s why it’s important to guide them at an early age to make sure that they’ll grow healthy and strong. 💪
AIESEC in UPLB and EMPATH presents SentimenTales, an opportunity for YOU to promote mental health awareness and well-being among children of Brgy. Lawaguin Daycare. Check this post to know more about how you would guide students as they tackle their thoughts and emotions! 👦🏻👧🏻
What story would you be able to unfold in SentimenTales? 📖

The 2021 Global Media and Information Literacy Week is held from October 24 to 31 and coordinated by South Africa together with UNESCO. It follows the theme “Media and Information Literacy for the Public Good.”
Given the evolution of the present information ecosystem paving the path for emerging opportunities as well as challenges, progress towards the public good may be difficult to achieve—especially when public disempowerment is perpetuated by disinformation, conspiracy theories, and hate speech.
In light of this, the demand to strengthen media and information literacy becomes increasingly urgent as communication and information competencies empower by fostering individual and societal development, conquering the digital divide, and further driving information as public good.
With media and information literacy, we make a stand in the midst of the world’s digital noise.

Making a difference in the world starts with a single choice. 🌍
For too long, we have used the wrong measures to determine progress in fighting global poverty. Simply looking through data is not enough. It is up to each one of us to take action in countering poverty. After all, the fight against poverty is also a fight for the dignity of every person.
