We are encouraging all schools located along highways to plant flowering plants and let them bloom in time for the opening of classes for SY 2021-2022.

We will launch the “Let a Million Flowers Bloom” project for School Year (SY) 2021-2022 to uplift the spirit of learners, parents, and teachers, as well as to show gratitude and appreciation to teachers for all the hard work they have showed amidst the COVID19 pandemic to continue the delivery of quality education to learners.

𝗗𝗶𝘃𝗶𝘀𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗦𝗦𝗚 𝗣𝗿𝗲𝘀𝗶𝗱𝗲𝗻𝘁𝘀 𝗮𝘁𝘁𝗲𝗻𝗱 𝗼𝗿𝗶𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗼𝗻 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗡𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝗮𝗹 𝗜𝗗 𝗦𝘆𝘀𝘁𝗲𝗺 (𝗣𝗵𝗶𝗹𝗦𝘆𝘀)

Mobilizing the youth towards a “Makabagong Pilipinas”, the National Orientation on the Philippine Identification System (PhilSys) was virtually conducted last April 27, 2021. Organized by the Youth Formation Division in partnership with the Department of Finance (DOF) and the Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA), the said national orientation was attended by around 200 Division Federation of Supreme Student Government (DFSSG) Presidents.

The national orientation aimed to promote the PhilSys as the country’s central national identification system. The guest speaker, Ms. Nicole Dane Navea of the Philippine Statistics Authority, highlighted the advantages and the significance of availing the national ID, stating that the PhilSys will promote financial inclusion and will increase access to social and economic opportunities, such as government and educational services and benefits.

The said activity emphasized the role of the youth in raising awareness and in strengthening the campaign for the Philippine Identification System (PhilSys) nationwide.

This is an online video contest open to High School and College students all over the Philippines. Contestants will submit an original video of them explaining any physics concepts/phenomenon under three minutes. Contestants are judged according to a set of criteria. Winners are selected through the combined score they obtained from the judges and from the online votes of their video.

𝗣𝗵𝘆𝘀𝗶𝗰𝘀 𝗣𝗵𝗼𝘁𝗼𝗴𝗿𝗮𝗽𝗵𝘆 𝗖𝗼𝗺𝗽𝗲𝘁𝗶𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻

This is an online contest open to anyone in the Philippines. Participants will submit an original photograph related to the theme “Our Grand Unified Theory: How Physics Connects Us All in These Trying Times”. 10 photos will be chosen from all the submissions after judging, and will be posted on our official page. The winners will be determined according to a set of criteria, which includes the number of likes and reactions their submissions gain.

This is an online physics demo contest open to Junior High School Students residing in the Philippines. Students should perform a high-school-level Physics experiment and record themselves in video format. Please see the guidelines and criteria for full instructions. Videos will be featured on the USC Physics and Astronomy Society page

𝗣𝗵𝘆𝘀𝗶𝗰𝘀 𝗧𝗶𝗸𝘁𝗼𝗸 𝗖𝗵𝗮𝗹𝗹𝗲𝗻𝗴𝗲 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟭

This Tiktok-style Physics-themed contest is open to all Filipino residents of all ages. There are three different challenges to be posted on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday at 12 PM (Philippine Standard Time) and will end at 12 PM (Philippine Standard Time) on Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday. The participants will publicly post their entries on their respective Facebook accounts together with the assigned hashtags on that day. Only one winner will be declared per challenge and will receive cash prizes. For more detailed instructions, please see the general mechanics.

This clash of wits will serve as a competitive test on the students’ knowledge and mastery on Newtonian Mechanics, Thermodynamics, Electromagnetism, Modern Physics, and Astrophysics. Zoom and Discord will be used as the online platforms for this contest.
