Congratulations Dr. Padilla and Dr. Davide!

The UP Office of Alumni Relations congratulates UP Alumni Dr. Carmencita D. Padilla & Dr. Romulo G. Davide, newly recognized as the 43rd and 44th National Scientists.

Dr. Padilla is an alumna of UP Diliman and UP Manila, where she received her Bachelor's in Science, Medical Doctorate and MA in Health Policy Studies. Her work contributed to legislation that aimed to prevent complications and death from congenital disorders among newborns.

Dr. Davide graduated from UP Los Baños with a BS in Agriculture degree. Hailed as the "Father of Plant Nematology," his work led to the development of new pest control practices to minimize damage to farmers' crops.

UPCAT 2025 Test Permit

The Test Permit is now available for download at the UPCAT 2025 online application portal at https://upcat2025online.up.edu.ph/

Print your test permit on a short or letter-sized paper (8.5 by 11 inches). Ensure that all details, including the photo, are clear and readable. Read all instructions regarding your test permit, as stated in the email and at the UPCAT 2025 online application portal.

Bring the following to your assigned testing venue on the scheduled date and time of your exam:
• Printed test permit
• Applicant's recent school ID or any government-issued ID with a photo

UPCAT 2025 Test Permit Release Date

Test permits will be released on 31 July 2024 Wednesday.

Applicants who have submitted their Form 1 completely and was confirmed by their school in the Form 2A portal will be issued test permits to take the exam on 10-11 August 2024.

UPCAT digital test permits will be available for download at the online application portal on the specified date. Make sure that the email address used in the portal can receive new messages as further announcements will be sent via email.

Leslie de Chavez presents a tableaux of works that re-examine the (dys)functionality of our image/object-inundated world in the instigation of pertinent yet elusive everyday socio-political narratives in the two-part exhibition titled “As Judas Receives the Bread from Christ, a Small Black Devil is Shown Entering His Mouth” and “Placebo Paintings.” The exhibition is akin to the exaggerated creation and replication of pre-existing images, objects, language, and media. It veers between the associations and flexibility of meaning in the arrangement of structures within the contentious domains of art, history, modern life, and existence.

On March 5, 2024, another round of coordination talks for UP IKOT 2024 in Sampaloc, Quezon took place.

We collaborated with the high school principals of Sampaloc to organize the UPCAT Review, facilitated with the assistance of the Office of the Vice Mayor, Teresita D. Villeno.

Following this, we participated in the Assembly of the Association of Barangay Captains of Sampaloc to deliberate on the proposed plans and gather feedback regarding the necessary programs/projects for their constituents.

On February 26, 2024, representatives from UPAA Quezon conducted a courtesy call with Mayor Gelo Devanadera of Sampaloc, Quezon, to discuss the proposal of bringing the flagship program of the association, the UP Isang Kilos Oblation Tour (UP IKOT) to the municipality.

Mayor Devanadera warmly received the delegation and wholeheartedly approved the proposed programs, giving his official approval for the orgs implementation. Following the approval, immediate coordination with some department heads was initiated to advance the initiative.
