Catch Engr. Hilbert Cardenas!

Hilbert Cardenas is an independent metallurgical consultant.
Prior to this he was the Mill Manager at Lepanto Consolidated Mining Co., and held various technical and operational roles at OceanaGold Phils Inc., Greenstone Resources, African Barrick Gold in Tanzania, Olympus Pacific in Vietnam, Crew Gold, Philex Mining, and Benguet Corporation.

Besides his practice of metallurgy, he was the General Manager and Owner of Fil-Siam Trading, and Sales Engineer at GST Philippines Inc.

He received his degree in Metallurgical Engineering from the University of the Philippines Diliman in 1991 and ranked second in the 1993 Metallurgical Engineering Licensure Examination. He took some masteral units in Management at the University of the Philippines Baguio in 2004-2006.

HB, as friends call him, hails from Baguio City and now lives in Angeles City, Pampanga. He is married to Xandra, and has four children.

In 2021 he was awarded as the Most Outstanding Metallurgical Engineer by the PRC, and the Professional Degree Award for Metallurgical Engineering by the UP Alumni Engineers. In 2022, he was awarded the Distinction Award for Private or Specialized Practice Category by the Philippine Federation of Professional Associations.
