Finance based on the bible
Sa edad mo ngayon,
Anong napatayo mo?
Tuloy mo lang
Scenario:
(After paying his regular-pay VUL for a few months)
Friend 2: Bakit, pag nag-claim ka ng coverage for death or sickness, pwede ba bawiin ng insurance company?
Hehe! Kidding aside... bakit nga ba usually walang nakukuha kapag a few months old pa lang ang policy mo?
1.) It's not a bank deposit account.
A regular-pay VUL policy is NOT a bank deposit account, where you can "park" your money and withdraw whenever you want. It is a protection contract between a client and an insurance company. Hindi sya fair for the insurance company kasi malaking risk ang tinataya nila. Milyones ang kapalit ng binabayad mong premium. The only time na may makukuha ka from your policy is kapag may tubo na ito from your investment (fund value), which is only possible kapag matagal na ang policy (at least three years).
2.) It's like hiring the services of a bodyguard.
Think of a VUL policy as your BODYGUARD. Regardless po kung may mangyari sa iyo o wala, kailangan nyo po syang sweldohan, kasi you were protected during the time na ni-hire nyo sya. Plain and simple.
3.) You are buying an asset.
Sa insurance or VUL po kasi, you are basically buying an asset with the choice to do it by "installment." Example, you are buying 1M coverage for 3k a month. If you were saving sa bank, it will take you nearly 30 years bago yan makumpleto. Pero sa insurance, agad-agad. Ownership was effective since Day 1 (for as long as you keep paying your premium). Same with buying a house. If you stop paying for the mortgage, wala kang makukuha. Subject for foreclosure.
Kaya for as long as binabayaran mo ang premium mo, mananatili ang promise ng insurance company to give that big amount if something bad happens to you. Once you stop, the company will also stop with its responsibility with you..
Kaya if I were you, continue mo lang no matter what. I understand mahirap situation nyo now pero di hamak na mas mahihirapan kayo kapag nagka-emergency at ikaw mismo at sumabay ka to an already existing financial problem.
Even in your sleep, something could happen.
Kasi kaya ka nagta-trabaho dahil sa pagmamahal mo sa pamilya mo, you are providing their needs and wants. At kung dumating man ang oras na mawawala ka, tuloy-tuloy pa rin ang income na pino-provide mo thru life insurance.
Kung sakaling ikaw yun, sino ang inaasahan mong tutulong saโyo to pay for the hospital bills kung ikaw lang ang nagta-trabaho sa pamilya mo? Paano kung di kasya ang ipon mo? Paano ka pa makakapag-trabaho? Yung health insurance ang tutulong sayo.

Meeting with an advisor doesn't necessarily mean na kailangan mo na agad kumuha.
It's basically allowing yourself to know every detail and benefit, and even compare to find the best plan for you. โจ
Having an insurance plan is a lifelong commitment and security mo at ng family ang nakasalalay dito.

Less than 2%.
Thatโs the insurance pe*******on rate in the Philippines from 2016 to 2020, according to the Key Statistical Data published by Insurance Commission last January 2023. (https://www.insurance.gov.ph/wp-content/uploads/2023/01/Key-Statistical-Data-2016-2020-Final-Figures.pdf)
-
A few days ago, I had a meeting with a client na dual citizen.
One of our topics was bakit mas mahal ang insurance dito sa PH, generally speaking. Yan ang sagot - โless than 2%โ. Dahil mababa ang insurance pe*******on rate, we have to pay for higher premiums to cover the risks. After all, insurance is a risk-sharing business. Sa ibang bansa, mura ang insurance since a huge % of their population is insured.
I told him na sa Pinas, may stigma pa rin pagdating sa insurance. Paano ba naman, for a lot of people ay taboo topic ang (1) pera at (2) death - eh kaso, life insurance is precisely about those two. Combo eh no ๐
And because of this, i-add mo pa yung misinformation on social media and yung bad experiences na shinashare rooted on unsatisfactory servicing ng agents, e talagang hindi open ang karamihan ng Pinoy sa usapan ng insurance.
He was surprised to learn about this. First time daw nya marinig yun. As in kailangan mong bumili sa private provider by law. Kasi nga naman, this secures the financial stability ng mga maiiwan, in the event something happens to you - and their people recognize that.
โ
I envision securing more Filipinos by letting them understand the true value of insurance and experience good servicing. Next time, tataas na yang number na yan - one Filipino at a time.
When there is a significant rise in the % of population insured, maybe in this lifetime, maabutan natin yung sobrang murang insurance kagaya sa ibang bansa.

This water bottle at the supermarket is worth 10php.
The same bottle at a hotel is 150php, and at an airport, 200php.
Same bottle, same brand. The only thing that changes is the place. Each place gives a different value to the same item.
When you feel worthless, change places, don't stay there.
Have the courage to change your circle of influence and go to a place that sees your value.
Surround yourself with people who appreciate your worth. Don't settle for less.
