SUP Yoga Bio:
Lalah is the founder, principal educator, and director of Aquanimous Yoga. She developed the AY Practice as a method of embodied learning through dynamic stability and somatic mindfulness. This approach combines interoceptive awareness and mindful movement on the SUP to empower whole-person discovery and healing.
The AY Practice delves into the physiological experience of yoga. The soft tissue, skeletal structure, fluid, and spatial sensations experienced in practice are examined in sequence. Practitioners are guided through a progression of these sensations, leading them to a profound understanding that transcends the physical practice.
By tapping into a deeper sense of âfeelingâ, AY Practitioners unlock an inherent physical wisdom. This involves combining anatomical visualization and imagination, cultivating awareness through movement, and managing sensations effectively.
Central to the AY Practice is refining and utilizing the practitionerâs core experience to unlock deeper insights. Practitioners are encouraged to explore obstacles hindering a deeper practice and are guided through common barriers that obstruct sensory pathways.
The way we move (or not) on the SUP reveals these barriers including conditioning, habitual patterns, trauma, anxiety, extraneous thoughts, and the impact of technique and methodology on learning. Practitioners will also grasp the fundamentals of mechanical freedom in postures and movement.
Viewing the body as the doorway into deeper self-awareness and self-understanding, the AY Practice encourages practitioners to transcend traditional approaches and dig deeply and equanimously into themselves to unearth the unconditioned, neutral body at its most profound level.
Cultivate interoceptive awareness and compassionately repattern habits of breath, posture, movement, and mind to empower personal agency and resiliency, and foster a harmonious balance of mind and body for overall well-being.
If you are interested in adding this new dimension to your practice then Aquanimous Yoga is for you.

Our Story
Ever since Lalah started surfing in 2002, she always wanted to live by the beach but she was still in college back then and didnât know how to sustain it. Life in Manila happened and it took her a while until in 2010, when she started teaching yoga, did it occur to her that she can combine both of her passions with SUP Yoga. It became her dream and she worked for it until in 2016, when she finally got the boards, did she decide to move to La Union to start Aquanimous Yoga.
La Union wasnât part of the plan. She was supposed to establish Aquanimous Yoga in Manila, but an opportunity arose and it was there where she solidified her program and came up with AYâs indoor SUP Yoga practice called Aqua Firma.
Life on the beach was cleansing before it was abrasive. After 2 extended years, she went home to Manila and established Aquanimous Yoga at the Makati Shangri-La.
The experiences sheâs had throughout the years, both the ones that sent her soaring high up in the clouds and the ones that shook her to the very core and brought her rock bottom, became the very foundation sheâs built Aquanimous Yoga on. Aside from these, Aquanimous Yoga also represents the love, support and generosity of her family and friends. Without them, Aquanimous Yoga wouldnât have been possible.
