Ateneo Graduate School of Business

Ateneo GSB congratulates one of its esteemed professors, Prof Leveric T. Ng for being recognized as having exceptional academic achievements and innovative research contributions to the Ateneo de Manila University community.

The awarding was held last May 22 at the Loft in Arete and was spearheaded by Fr. Roberto C. Yap SJ, President of Ateneo De Manila University and Dr. Maria Luz C. Vilches, Vice President for Higher Education. Prof Ng was given recognition for his work on “ Explicating the Influence of Religion in Forming Corporate Governance: Insights form the Philippines” .

In his speech, he stated “Thank you very much Ateneo de Manila University for this honor. I am truly humbled by this recognition from our beloved institution. Apart form passionately teaching and having published a textbook on Social Responsibility and Good Governance, I hold this subject matter very close to my heart which I believe is crucial in Nation Building and in guiding the path for our future generation of leaders. By understanding the complexities of leadership and good governance, I hope my research will contribute further to the extant literature and more importantly, the betterment of society. “

The Ateneo Institute of Sustainability, with the support of the Ateneo Graduate School of Business and Ateneo John Gokongwei School of Management, presents Blue Roots: Stories of Filipino Sustainability Leaders, an event which gathers Filipino sustainability professionals to share and exchange perspectives on the sustainability landscape abroad and in the Philippines.

This event proudly features Ephi Banaynal dela Cruz, a visiting Ateneo alumna with over 20 years of experience in leading corporate sustainability in the United States, and also welcomes a panel of sustainability leaders in the Philippines: Nikki Lizares, Sustainability Head at Security Bank, and Kristine Rowan, Head of Sustainability Programs at MERALCO.

Ateneo GSB Launched its first-ever Learning Caravan last April 27 in partnership with Ayala Malls The 30th

In this event, Ateneo GSB showcased its featured Alumni or “Hero Graduates” and they discussed their journey in their chosen career path or entrepreneurial venture. These Hero Graduates comprised of Aaron Ngui from the Mad Marks Group of Companies, Franco Flameno of Word Text Systems, Inc, Angelo Obias of City Savings Bank (A subsidiary of Union Bank) Hennesy Lou Miranda from Asian Hospital and Medical Center, Eric Darryl Lim of Autokid Truck Solutions and Raymund Aaron from Villa Socorro Farm.

Participants were not only treated to these alumni’s stories but they were also given a chance to meet the Ateneo Professional Schools Registar’,Mr. Rey Reyes. On top of that, they were able to sample a 30-minute trial class from none other than the school’s Dean, Dr. Jowett Magsaysay, PhD who discussed cases ranging from Finance to Strategy to Ethical Decision Making.
Participants were very engaged in the half day session and actively joined the afternoon socials wherein they were joined by two Ateneo GSB students, Angel Centeno and Jio Zorrilla.
