We would like to inform you that, as per the Executive Order issued by the Municipal Mayor, face-to-face classes in all levels within the Municipality of Malvar, Batangas are suspended tomorrow, 𝗧𝘂𝗲𝘀𝗱𝗮𝘆, 𝗔𝘂𝗴𝘂𝘀𝘁 𝟮𝟬, 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟰. This measure has been taken in response to the continuing hazardous smog resulting from the sulfur dioxide emissions from Taal Volcano.

Due to the continuous emission of volcanic smog from Taal Volcano, the Municipal Disaster and Risk Reduction Management Office of Malvar (MDRRMO) has announced the suspension of classes at all levels in the whole Municipality of Malvar on August 19, 2024. We advised every Laurelian to always wear facemasks and limit outdoor activities.

The Batangas State University - The National Engineering University — Office of the Student Regent (BatStateU - The NEU OSR) has sent a letter to the Office of the President last April 22, 2024 requesting to temporarily allow the students of the institution "𝘁𝗼 𝘄𝗲𝗮𝗿 𝗰𝗶𝘃𝗶𝗹𝗶𝗮𝗻 𝗮𝘁𝘁𝗶𝗿𝗲 𝘁𝗲𝗺𝗽𝗼𝗿𝗮𝗿𝗶𝗹𝘆 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗺𝗼𝗿𝗲 𝗰𝗼𝗺𝗳𝗼𝗿𝘁𝗮𝗯𝗹𝗲 𝗰𝗹𝗼𝘁𝗵𝗲𝘀 𝗶𝗻 𝘁𝗵𝗶𝘀 𝘁𝗶𝗺𝗲 𝗼𝗳 𝗲𝘅𝘁𝗿𝗲𝗺𝗲 𝗵𝗲𝗮𝘁 𝘂𝗻𝘁𝗶𝗹 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗲𝗻𝗱 𝗼𝗳 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗼𝗻𝗴𝗼𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘀𝗲𝗺𝗲𝘀𝘁𝗲𝗿."

Moreover, students are now allowed to wear attire that still adheres to the prohibition in Section 10.7 of the Student Handbook. Along with Section 10.1.1which permits the waiving of school uniform during enrollment and midterm classes.

The Office of the Student Regent firmly believes that comfort is a conducive element for students to learn adequately during this summer heat.

#𝐋𝐚𝐮𝐫𝐞𝐥𝐢𝐚𝐧𝐀𝐝𝐯𝐢𝐬𝐨𝐫𝐲: The school adheres to the observance of an appropriate dress code for its students. Please be advised that the school may prohibit any student from entering its premises by not abiding the Section 10 of the Student Handbook.

Section 10. Dress Code, and Related Rules/Regulations

10.7.10 Heavy make-up for female; make-up for male
10.7.11 Flashy hair style and loud hair color;
10.7.14 Cross-dressing
10.8 Male students should have proper haircut
10.7.12 Wearing of Earrings for males

Please be noted that this policy will be strictly implemented on AUGUST 29, 2023. On the other hand, the policy on wearing proper school uniform will take effect on OCTOBER 02, 2023.

Also, we encourage all Red Spartans to buy our textile school uniform at Resource Generation Office (RGO) located 1st Floor CICS Building before the said effectivity date of strict implementation of our Proper Dress Code Policy of Wearing Proper School Uniform on October 02, 2023.
