The National Commission for Culture and the Arts- National Committee on Dance (NCCA-NCD) 2020-2022 has shown remarkable perseverance in the face of the Covid-19 pandemic. Despite having to halt their projects in March 2020, the NCCA-NCD used innovative methods to provide virtual performance opportunities for the dance community. Their efforts resulted in 72 dance concerts featuring 402 groups and companies from various genres.

A Recognition Night and Indak, Galaw, Sayaw Live was held at the Metropolitan Theater on June 27, 2023, to recognize the successes of the online dance concerts and the creative works of dance groups and companies during the pandemic. Wrapping up Sayaw Pinoy 2023 in Negros Occidental. Halina’t maki-sining!

30/03/2023

Indak, Galaw, Sayaw is a component activity of “Dance Essentials.” It aims to continue the trailblazing successes of Sayaw Pinoy and Dance Xchange, especially the gains from the program and projects during the pandemic.

Indak, Galaw, Sayaw was inspired by the recognition that dance production and performance is unlimited in terms of space, movements, and capacity to bring out the best in the directors, choreographers and dancers as well. While we cannot deny the harmful impact of the pandemic, the dance community showed resilience to produce and showcase dance creation. Thus, Indak, Galaw, Sayaw reflects such resilience.

Happening this morning is the first Indak, Galaw, Sayaw with a public audience accompanying us. This is in partnership with Southland College Kabankalan Philippines.

Let’s celebrate the Filipino creativity and resilience through dance at 9 AM today in Southland College in Kabankalan City!

We've presented Dance Xchange and Sayaw Pinoy dance concerts at Rizal Park Open-Air Auditorium a lot of times. Here, we've met passionate dance groups and companies for the first time and seen them grow through the years. Here is where we've shown our colorful culture and talents in the dance community through the performances. The support of the National Parks Development Committee to Dance Xchange provided opportunities to show more of what we've got.

With the COVID-19 restriction loosened from 2022 to the present, the Dance Xchange is back live with the public audience accompanying us. That allows us to bring the Dance Xchange to Iloilo finally.
