Ngayon, ginugunita natin ang kalayaan ng ating bansa. Ito'y isang pagkakataon upang ipagdiwang ang pagmamahal at pagkakaisa sa ating bayan bilang isang nagkakaisang komunidad.

On April 27, 1521, the legendary Battle of Mactan took place between the forces of Ferdinand Magellan and Lapu-Lapu, with the Filipinos emerging victorious.

The battle is a significant event in the country’s history as it was the first known act of resistance by a Filipino against foreign intrusion. Hence, PDP Laban enjoins the whole Filipino nation in celebrating Lapu-Lapu and his army’s triumph at Mactan, and that his courageous act continue to inspire us all to always honor and defend our motherland.

Go urges action vs possible water crisis

Senator B**g Go is urging the government to bolster its reforestation and greening programs to avoid a water crisis in the country.

“If there are more trees in our forests, more rainwater will be accumulated in the soil…The effect of climate change has intensified. We cannot 100 percent rely on rain to irrigate our farmlands, especially during the summer dry season,” said the senator.

Hinikayat ni Senador B**g Go ang Department of Migrant Workers na magpatupad ng mga hakbang na magtitiyak sa kaligtasan ng mga OFWs na nagtatrabaho sa Taiwan sa kabila ng umiinit na tensyon sa nasabing bansa. Paliwanag ng senador, ang kaligtasan at kabutihan ng mga Pilipinong nagtatrabaho sa Taiwan ang prayoridad ng pamahalaan.

Ayon sa datos ng Department of Migrant Workers ay may 150,000 OFWs ang kasalukuyang nagtatrabaho sa Taiwan.

In light of the Oriental Mindoro oil spill, Senator B**g Go reiterated the need to ensure the seaworthiness of sea vessels to prevent disasters such as oil spills.

Go particularly urged that the Department of Transportation, the Maritime Industry Authority and other concerned agencies should strictly implement necessary standards for sea vessels.

Aprubado na sa ikatlo at pinal na pagbasa ang Senate Bill No. 1864 o ang Student Loan Payment Moratorium during disasters and emergencies Act. Co-author at co-sponsor ng panukalang ito si Senator B**g Go.

Para kay Senator Kuya B**g Go, walang dapat maging hadlang sa pag-aaral ng mga kabataan lalung-lalo na kung ito ay usaping pinansyal.

Sa panahon ng kalamidad o krisis, dapat bigyan ng palugit ang mga mag-aaral at ang kanilang mga magulang sa pagbabayad ng anumang student loan. Katuwang dapat ang pamahalaan at mga paaralan para matiyak na maabot ng mga kabataan ang kanilang mga pangarap sa buhay.

The BGC-Ortigas Center Link reduced travel time between BGC and Ortigas to only 12 minutes. Its construction was initiated by former president Rodrigo Duterte (Rody Duterte) and was completed in 2021.
