NEW RESEARCH ARTICLE! 🤯🧐
Our lab head, Dr. Neil Del Gallego, together with his colleagues, Dr. Joel Ilao, Dr. Macario Cordel II, and Dr. Conrado Ruiz Jr created a new and cost-effective method of synthetically generating shadows using 3D virtual primitives as occluders! 😍😍😍
We can now train a shadow removal (SR) network using only synthetic shadows! The results of this study show that the trained network achieves competitive results with state-of-the-art shadow removal networks that were trained purely on typical SR datasets!
The article was published in The Visual Computer, which is currently ranked #4 in the field of Computer Graphics, according to Google Scholar. Congratulations to the team for publishing this awesome work!

Referencing Google street map data, we propose a new set of rules for generating virtual Philippine cities and designed a new procedural city generator!

A GAME JAM LIKE NO OTHER!
Global Game Jam 2023 marked a major milestone in the DLSU-Ubisoft partnership, as DLSU students and Ubisoft professionals teamed up to create games in just 48 hours.
Following a strong history of co-teaching between the studio and the university, the event broke into new frontiers of collaboration, becoming a catalyst for innovation and creativity.
