HIGHLIGHTS: Benchmarking Activity Between Cotabato Regional and Medical Center (CRMC) and UP Manila Research Grants Administration Office (UPM-RGAO)

The Cotabato Regional and Medical Center (CRMC) is in the process of establishing its own Research Institute (RI) to institutionalize hospital research and align with its vision of becoming the center of health research in BARMM and Central Mindanao. CRMC is conducting a benchmarking activity with UP Manila Research Grants Administration Office (UPM-RGAO) to observe and learn from their strategies and best practices in managing research projects.

To enhance research impact and foster university-industry collaboration, the UP TTBDO and UP Saliksik Lab recently launched the University Innovation Fellowships and introduced the sixth batch of fellows.

The OVCR conducted a benchmarking session at the UPD OVCRD Office of Extension Coordination (OEC), marking a significant milestone in OVCR's journey towards becoming OVCRE and fostering closer ties between research and extension.

Free Basic IACUC Online Training (April 22 to May 6, 2024)

The UP Manila's Institutional Animal Care and Use Committee has organized a Free Basic IACUC Training. This is an asynchronous and self-paced online course that will be open from April 22 to May 6, 2024. This is available for the UP Community only. The UP Manila faculty, students, and staff who plan or are practicing biomedical research are encouraged to join. This is required for all personnel on an IACUC protocol.

This basic online course covers topics on animal welfare, legal bases, the institutional animal care and use committee, and the fundamentals of animal use in research. A certificate of completion will be awarded to the participants who complete the online module and pass 70% of the assessment within the given timeframe.
