Organized by the Department of Nutrition (DON), the 28th Course on Food Safety concluded yesterday, July 12, with participants receiving certificates, marking the end of a successful four-day program filled with lectures, workshops, a plenary session, and an educational facility tour.
On the fourth and final day of the course, participants engaged in further discussions on legal frameworks and requirements that ensure the safety and quality of food products. They also toured a catering service provider's facility to deepen their understanding of industry-level food safety principles:

Dr. Fernando B. Garcia Jr., dean and centre director of the UP College of Public Health, joined the organizers in congratulating the participants. DON chair Dr. Kim Leonard G. dela Luna meanwhile delivered the closing remarks, encouraging participants to apply their new knowledge in their respective fields.

To further equip participants with food safety principles and familiarize them with control measures that address food hazards, attendees of the 28th Course on Food Safety (CFS) collaborated to create their own Hazard Analysis Critical Control Point (HACCP) plans during the third day of the short course.
Meanwhile, guest speakers from the UP College of Public Health (CPH) and Philippine Trade Training Center led the morning sessions, enhancing the participants' knowledge and understanding of essential food safety concepts.
