What is AERODYNAMICS? 🛫

Aerodynamics is the study of how air moves and how it interacts with solid structures, such as aircraft. It includes concepts such as lift, weight, drag, thrust, and airflow patterns, all of which are important in the behavior and performance of flying aircraft.

Understanding it is critical since it determines aircraft performance, safety, efficiency, and maneuverability. It enables aviators to understand the principles underlying lift, weight, drag, and thrust, resulting in a better understanding of flight dynamics and an overall pleasure of aviation. 💺

It's been a wonderful experience to attend the 24th Philippine International Hot Air Balloon Festival held at New Clark City in Tarlac province. A weekend of everything that flies.

Also, the FEATI.Aero - Aerodynamics and Design Lab under the FEATI University Aero/AMT Department had an opportunity to present its projects and showcase a small open-circuit wind tunnel as part of the exhibit of FEATI University.

The Wright Flyer 1, an enduring symbol of human innovation and aeronautical achievement, holds a unique place in history as the world's first successful powered aircraft. Conceived and crafted by the visionary Wright brothers, Orville and Wilbur, this pioneering biplane took to the skies on December 17, 1903, at Kitty Hawk, North Carolina, forever altering the course of transportation.

The aircraft's ingenious design incorporated twin propellers and a 12-horsepower engine, demonstrating revolutionary concepts like wing warping for controlled flight. Covering a distance of 120 feet in just 12 seconds during its historic maiden flight, the Wright Flyer 1 marked a monumental leap into the era of aviation. Today, this iconic aircraft is celebrated for its pivotal role in shaping the aviation industry, serving as a testament to human determination, scientific exploration, and the boundless possibilities of flight.

FEATI University's Aerodynamics Design Laboratory is one of the proposed laboratory facilities, under the Aero/AMT department of FEATI University, which is designed to support research, experimentation, and education in the field of aerodynamics. The lab is equipped with state-of-the-art tools and equipment to facilitate hands-on learning and cutting-edge research in aeronautical engineering and related disciplines.
