National Heroes Day is observed annually in the Philippines on the final Monday of August. Its purpose is to pay tribute to the bravery, selflessness, and nationalism of the nation's heroes,—both known and unknown. This day is not just a commemoration of historical figures like José Rizal, Andres Bonifacio, and Emilio Aguinaldo, but also a tribute to countless unsung heroes who fought for the nation's freedom, dignity, and independence.

Let us remember that heroism is not just a thing of the past. It lives on in each of us, in our actions, and in our dedication to making the Philippines a better place for future generations. May this day inspire us to continue the legacy of our heroes, striving to embody the values of freedom, justice, and national pride.

𝗡𝗶𝗻𝗼𝘆 𝗔𝗾𝘂𝗶𝗻𝗼 𝗗𝗮𝘆: 𝗛𝗼𝗻𝗼𝗿𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗮 𝗟𝗶𝗳𝗲 𝗼𝗳 𝗖𝗼𝘂𝗿𝗮𝗴𝗲 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗟𝗲𝗴𝗮𝗰𝘆

Every year, August 21, “Ninoy Aquino Day” is observed to honor the life and contributions of Benigno "Ninoy" Aquino Jr.

He served as a correspondent in the Battle of Yultong in 1950 in Korea. The youngest mayor, vice governor of Tarlac, and senator. As a senator, he proposed the “Study Now, Pay Later” program for students who don’t have access to education due to financial instability.

When martial law was declared in September 1972, he was one of the opposition leaders arrested and sentenced to be imprisoned for 8 years and to be executed, which did not happen. At first, he was diagnosed with heart complications, which led him to be brought to the United States for a heart surgical operation. On August 21, 1983, he came back after his surgery. Stepping down the ladder and getting off the plane at the Manila International Airport, he was assassinated, and it became one of the great turning points in Philippine history. His assassination is one of the reasons for the People Power Revolution in 1986, which ended the Marcos dictatorship.

On behalf of Kylie Mae Boral, who is currently facing a challenging time as her family deals with the unexpected passing of her grandfather due to a heart attack. Kylie and her family are in urgent need of assistance to cover the funeral expenses, which have amounted to ₱30,000. The burial is scheduled to take place on August 17, 2024, in their hometown.

Kylie and her family are trying their hardest to accept their loss during these difficult times, but their financial burden has been too much. As the Paris Olympics 2024 end, let's congratulate our fellow Filipino athletes who bravely represented our country in different fields of sports with pride at the Summer Olympics in Paris from July 26th to August 11th. Philippines now has 2 Filipino gold medalists at the Olympic Games, the first ever gold in Tokyo 2020 by Hidilyn Diaz, the first Filipina weightlifter, and now our new gold medalist at the Summer Olympics 2024 in Paris, Carlos Yulo, won two golds in the men's floor and vault events, becoming the first-ever Filipino and Southeast Asian double Olympic gold medalist and the first in gymnastics. We also have bronze medalists in women's boxing, Aira Villegas and Nesthy Petecio. We are also proud of other Filipino athletes who participated in the Summer Olympics in Paris. Keep going, and thank you for bringing our country's name to different fields of sports we appreciate your hard work and determination.

Once again, we are so proud to have these talented Filipino athletes who are proud to represent our country. Let's empower and support inspiring athletes to showcase there talents and enrich there abilities and skills to have more talented Filipino athletes and be the pride of our country. We're making significant progress in providing aid to those affected by Typhoon Carina. The canned goods we packed have already reached many students in need, and we're now halfway through our distribution. Every can is a symbol of hope and solidarity, reminding us of the power of community support. Thank you for being a crucial part of this mission.
