Provincial Gender and Development LDS

The Gender and Development Office held its 1st Quarterly Meeting last February 3, 2023 at the Executive Conference Hall with the Municipal GAD focal persons of different municipalities in Lanao Del Sur.

This brochure is a summary of the Republic Act 9710 or the Magna Carta of Women (MCW). The MCW is a comprehensive women’s human rights law that seeks to eliminate discrimination through the recognition, protection, fulfillment, and promotion of the rights of Filipino women, especially those belonging in the marginalized sectors of the society.

The Provincial Government of Lanao del Sur through the Gender and Development Office (GAD)conducts Buntis Summit 2021 to the municipalities of Poona Bayabao, Lumba Bayabao, Maguing, Mulondo, Picong, Malabang, Ganassi, Pualas, Kapai and Tagoloan II. At least 700 pregnant mothers enjoyed and learned from this activity, which was held from December 22-24, 2021.

The PGAD Office has taken this initiative with the theme "Siyap ko mga Bae a maririmbit" to advance the knowledge on health services that a pregnant woman should receive to improve the outcome of childbirth.

To encourage healthy pregnancies among mothers, the PGAD invited the following resource speakers; Chief Nurse of the Provincial Health Office Ms. Nurhanisah S. Carim, and Dr. Yasmin Bacarat of IPHO. They discussed the importance of Prenatal and safety pregnancies for mom and the baby. It was also emphasized the importance of Covid-19 vaccination to pregnant women from four (4) months up.

With the help of RHU, the PGAD distributed maternity kits/Baby Kits, rice and groceries. Pregnant women were satisfied and they even gained knowledge on safe motherhood, breastfeeding, vaccinations, family planning, and the importance of giving birth in accredited health facilities.

The Pregnant Summit 2021 is an innovative way to promote healthy pregnancy, prevent maternal mortality and promote quality of life.

Marami na namang buntis na Ina ang nasiyahan at natuto mula sa Buntis Summit. D Daan-daang buntis na nanay mula sa Munisipyo ng Poona Bayabao, Lumba Bayabao, Maguing at Mulondo ang nakiisa sa Buntis Summit ngayong taon na ginanap ngayon araw December 2021. Ang kaganapang eto ay may temang "Siyap ko mga Bae a maririmbit". Eto ay apat pa lang sa 10 munisipyo na benepisyaryo sa programang eto ngayong taon.

Ang Provincial Government of Lanao del Sur sa pamumuno ni Governor Bombit Adiong, sa pamamagitan ng Gender and Development Office, ay ginawa ang inisyatiba na ito upang isulong ang pakete ng mga serbisyong pangkalusugan na dapat matanggap ng isang buntis upang mapabuti ang resulta ng panganganak.

Upang hikayatin ang malusog na pagbubuntis sa mga ina, ang PGAD ay namigay ng maternity kit/Baby Kit, bigas at groceries. Ang mga buntis ay nasiyahan at nakakuha pa sila ng kaalaman sa ligtas na pagiging ina, pagpapasuso, pagbabakuna, pagpaplano ng pamilya, at ang kahalagahan ng panganganak sa mga akreditadong pasilidad ng kalusugan. Ang Buntis Summit ay 2021 ay talagang isang makabagong paraan upang itaguyod ang malusog na pagbubuntis, maiwasan ang pagkamatay ng ina at itaguyod ang kalidad ng buhay.

The Provincial Gender and Development Office conducts 3-Day Training/Workshop on the Formulation of GAD Plan and Budgeting for 2022 and Year-End Assessment for the year 2021 at New Dawn Hotel Plus, CDO on November 27-29, 2021.

The workshop aims empower our city and Municipal GAD focal person to be prepared and equipped them further in the Formulation of GAD GPB as a requirement mandated to GAD by the MILG'S new guidelines.

The Gender and Development Office of the Province of Lanao del Sur conducts 2 Day Workshop on the Formulation of the Gender and Development information, education and communication held at Go Hotel, Robinsons Place Iligan City on November 15-16, 2021.

This workshop aims to raise awareness through effective delivery of messaging where programs are shown for better accessibility from experts. The IEC Materials formulated will serve as guide to send clearer messaging in upholding social awareness especially to marginalized communities.
