ORATIO IMPERATA: PANALANGIN PARA IPAG-ADYA SA MGA KALAMIDAD (DULOT NG BAGYONG PAENG)

Manalangin Tayo:

Amang Makapangyarihan, Itinataas namin sa Iyo ang aming mga pusong nagpapasalamat sa kagandahan ng Iyong nilikha kung saan kami ay bahagi sa pagkalinga Mong nagtataguyod sa aming mga pangangailangan at sa karunungan Mong gumagabay sa takbo ng daigdig.

Kinikilala namin ang aming mga pagkakasala sa Iyo at sa sangnilikha. Hindi kami naging mabuting katiwala ng kalikasan.

Pinagkamali namin ang iyong utos na pangasiwaan ang daigdig. Ang kapaligiran ay nagdurusa sa aming kamalian at ngayon ay aming inaani ang aming pagmamalabis at kawalang pakialam. Ang "global warming" ay laganap na.

Ang mga bagyo, pagbaha, pagputok ng bulkan, paglindol, at iba pang kalamidad ay patuloy na tumitindi sa pananalanta. Lumalapit kami sa Iyo, Mapagmahal na Ama at humihingi ng kapatawaran sa aming mga kasalanan.

Hinihiling namin na kami, kasama ng aming mga mahal sa buhay at pinagpagurang ari- a***n at ipag-adya sa banta ng mga kalamidad, likas man o kagagawan ng tao.

Iniluluhog namin gawin kaming mapanagutang katiwala ng Iyong nilikha at maging bukas-palad na kapwa sa mga nangangailangan. Sa Pangalan ni Hesus.

Loving Father,
Creator and Lord of the Universe,
your providence sustains the foundation of the earth and your Wisdom guides the courses of nature.

We humbly implore you to spare us from the eminent threat of the typhoon to keep us safe from all dangers, and to calm all the storms of life that threaten us. May we be secure in your loving hands, seek your Will in all our experiences, and serve you, as stewards of your creation, with grateful hearts.

O Our Lady of the Nativity, Mama Mary intercede for us; embrace us with your mantle of love and shield us from all calamities. We ask this through Jesus Christ, Our Lord, in the unity of the Holy Spirit.

BEATIFICATION OF POPE JOHN PAUL I
Pope Francis beatified Pope John Paul I in ceremonies at St. Peter’s Square on SUNDAY, 4 SEPTEMBER 2022.

Albino Cardinal Luciani was the first pope who took on a double name, wishing to continue the legacies of his predecessors John XXIII and Paul VI. His papacy lasted just 33 days (August 26 to September 28, 1978). He was recognized for his humility and was fondly called “The Smiling Pope”.

On July 25, 1978, before his election as Pope, he wrote a feature article on Msgr. Escriva and Opus Dei:

“Msgr. Escrivá, with Gospel in hand, constantly taught: God does not want us simply to be good, he wants us to be saints, through and through. However, he wants us to attain that sanctity, not by doing extraordinary things, but rather through ordinary common activities. It is the way they are done which must be uncommon.

There, in the middle of the street, in the office, in the factory, we can be holy, provided we do our job competently, for love of God and cheerfully, so that everyday work becomes, not ‘a daily tragedy,’ but rather ‘a daily smile.’” (Albino Cardinal Luciani)

With all the news pitting Cardinal Tagle and Cardinal Erdő as the leading and contending "Papabile" should Pope Francis resign, it is good to remind all Catholics that our role in any conclave is to pray.

As Catholics, we pray that the cardinals listen to the prompting of the Holy Spirit during conclaves. Nothing more and nothing less.

To elect a pope is not about "Pinoy Pride" or racial representation it is a grace for the Universal Church.

YOU ARE A PRIEST FOREVER

Today, August 4, we celebrate the feast day of St. John Mary Vianney, the Patron Saint of Priests.

Today also we celebrate Priests Day, where we celebrate the lives of Priests and their ministry.

May they continue to be faithful shepherds to the Church as we remember this day. May God continue to bless them as they carry on their mission to spread the good news of God to our brothers and sisters, and to further propagate the devotion to the Blessed Virgin Mary.
