Almighty Father, we raise our hearts to you in gratitude for the wonders of creation, for your providence in sustaining us in our needs, and for your wisdom that guides the course of the universe.

We acknowledge our sins against you and the rest of creation. We have not been good stewards of your creation. We turn to you, our Loving Father and beg for forgiveness for our sins.
We pray to you for protection from calamities, from the floods and raging waters brought by storms, from howling winds that destroy our homes, from the loosening of earth that brings landslides.

Calm the storm and keep us all safe and far from harm these perilous days and always.

We ask this through Your Son Jesus Christ who lives and reigns with You and the Holy Spirit, now and forever. Amen.

On this day in 2002, the Servants of Jesus Community Foundation Inc. (SOJCFI) was formally incorporated with the Securities and Exchange Commission. The SOJCFI was the brainchild of the members of the Singles Ministry and the leaders of the SOJ Community. It was founded by 15 community leaders and members and became the charitable arm of the Community.

The first program of SOJCFI was the Scholarship program, presently known as Child Sponsorship Program-Educational Assistance Program. Pamaskong Pambata ‘To is the first massive fund-raising activity that is still being held every December each year.

The SOJCFI Child Sponsorship Program, Educational Assistance Platform, started with 3 elementary scholars in 2003. For almost 2 decades, we have supported more than 60 scholars in various education levels, from elementary to college. SOJCFI produced 17 elementary graduates, 11 high school graduates, 7 senior high school graduates, and 6 college graduates.

Moreover, many scholars have gone on to become leaders of SOJC ministries during and after their studies. In particular, 3 former scholars eventually became Trustees of the Foundation. They are Sis. Yarei Lauro, Sis. Aby Dolleton, and Sis. Daisy Vergara.

This year’s Anniversary preparations are also being led by our SY 2021-2022 scholars through the leadership of Robbie, Niña, Erysa, John Lloyd, and Caryl.

The very first Pamaskong Pambata was held on December 20, 2003 at the Muntinlupa Elementary School gymnasium. Around 200 Kiddie Kingdom attendees, aged 5-12 year old, enjoyed a fun-filled Christmas Party of parlor games and gift giving.

For almost 20 years, the biggest annual event of SOJCFI and the Kids of Jesus ministry has continuously evolved, with the kids sharing their talents with performances and various annual themes like olympics and graduation dreams. Pamaskong Pambata 2021, themed Let’s Be Home This Christmas, was the biggest yet, with more than 300 kids given with educational toys and noche buena packages.

Join us this July 29 as we celebrate 20 years of SOJCFI’s work in making a difference in the life of a child, their families, and their communities!

In 1987, then parish priest, Msgr. Dalmacio Eusebio, Jr., and Bro. Tony Agustin brought 4 small charismatic prayer groups in the parish into 1 prayer group that will be known as 'Our Lady of the Abandoned Catholic Charismatic Renewal Movement'. They elected Bro. Edwin Valencia as the Head Servant of the unified charismatic prayer groups, with 12 Core of Elders to help him. Fifteen years later, the Our Lady of the Abandoned Prayer Community established the Servants of Jesus Community Foundation, Inc., and made Bro. Edwin Valencia its first President. Upon the Board of Trustees election the following year, they created the position of Chairman of the Board, and elected him into that position for the next 2 years.

He is one of the two remaining original servants still active in the community. He currently heads the Pastoral Care Ministry with Sis. Cindy Fernandez, after serving as Board of Trustee of the Foundation for 10 years.

His presence in the Community remains to be a great blessing from the Lord, as his steadfast faith and service brought him to the present to celebrate 35 years of community life and 20 years of Foundation involvement.

Fr. Kevin Joshua Cosme is a newly ordained priest in the Diocese of Parañaque. He graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in Philosophy (2018) and a Master of Arts in Theology (2021, with Magna Cum Laude Honors), both at San Carlos Major Seminary in Makati City. He is currently taking up a Licentiate in Canon Law at the University of Santo Tomas. He hosts the "Flex Our Faith" short video series on the Dominus Est page and is a contributing writer on its web page.

On this day in 1987, the very first prayer meeting of Our Lady of the Abandoned Catholic Charismatic Renewal Movement (OLAP-CCRM) was held. The group evolved through the years and became a community. It was followed by renaming the group twice that encompassed its vision and missions. The first renaming happened on 1993, when it became Our Lady of the Abandoned Prayer Community, and on 2011, when it became Servants of Jesus Community. Now on its 35th year, SOJC still meets every Friday for worship, teaching, and fellowship.

We are inviting everyone to join the 35th SOJC and 20th SOJCFI Anniversary Celebration on 29th of July, 2022 at 6:00 pm at Our Lady of the Abandoned Parish Church. The evening is designed to be filled with grace and blessings from musical ministries, motivational speakers, and, of course, an excellent assortment of food and fellowship for the greater glory of God.
