We love learning about the art of talking to children as brought to life by Fred Rogers, creator of the preschool television series Mister Rogers' Neighborhood. He was known for a truly unique way of connecting with his young viewers through how he shaped monologues and conversations with language that was intentionally crafted for preschoolers. His background in music, theology, and child development, as well as a close collaboration with child psychologist Margaret McFarland, enabled him to make the show beloved by many, young and old alike. ๐
Does learning about Mister Rogers' way of speaking to children inspire you to try something new when talking to your favorite little human? โจ
Truly, it takes a village to raise a child. Being able to connect, collaborate, and foster community with the parents of our students are part of our priorities. We're so grateful for the testimony that Daddy Ryan has shared about their experience with their son Timothy growing at TLC. ๐๐

I spy with my little eye ๐ .... our teachers are hard at work building a world of Story for our year-end celebration โจ
For our students to learn, we remind ourselves that we must be ever at the ready to explore and learn along with them ๐
Coming together, running off and coming back, observing quietly, calling for friends, discussing and testing thoughts, declaring delight โโ all of these happen when we facilitate free play and exploration in our garden! There's so much to learn, from the space and from being around each other. The opportunity to nurture interactions and observations within this environment is one of the most rewarding parts of journeying with our beloved students. ๐ณ
Storytelling is never as vibrant as it is on a Monday morning, when our students are bursting with stories from the weekend ๐
Nature is one of our favorite teachers! We learn about how the natural world grows around us, we learn to be caring and careful with our bodies when holding natural things or walking through them, and we learn the value of protecting our environment ๐ณ
pov: it's Friday and you just got a healthy dose of natural Vitamin D from the sun with your BFF ๐
Hoppity hop! Movement is a fun way to engage out students in learning colors, numbers, symbols, and so much more! We have the capacity to learn with our whole body, and it is never too early to start ๐คธ๐ฝโโ๏ธ
Part of the weekly morning routine at TLC is gathering to enter our classroom together ๐๐ ensuring our students are familiar with all the spaces on Campus is part of their learning goals, and it helps prepare them for bigger schools when the time comes for it. ๐ซ
It's that time of year again: Picture Day ๐ท we were not ready to realize how much our dear students have grown! ๐ฅน
Throwback to our campus community appreciation activity last March ๐ the big smiles are thanks to some delicious iced coffee made by our Kinder students! Learning about our School and all the people who work to make it out students' second home is one of our favorite ways to introduce the concept of community, and encourage empathy and kindness. ๐
Art has awakened our students to the world around them, connected us to friends in faraway places, revitalized the mission of our teachers, and brightened our campus with the beauty of creativity from our TLC Family. Happy ! ๐๐
We love learning from the members of our community! Can you tell which important community helper these Kinder students are meeting?

When children get to know the people who work within their neighborhood or the staple roles in their community, it broadens their sense of safety within the place that they live. They also have a chance to practice social skills, communication, and curiosity!
Whatโs better than hanging out in fresh air and natural sunlight? Making pizzas while hanging out in fresh air and natural sunlight!! ๐๐๐
These Kinder kiddos had so much fun making pizza with one of our Kinder mommies and her homemade pizza dough ๐ฅน Thereโs so much to be grateful for in our community! ๐
Thereโs something both peaceful and exciting about being an earlybird in the classroom. With the morning sun peeking in and teachers to welcome you warmly, students can expect to feel grounded, in the way that is meaningful to them. ๐๐
Puzzles give us perseverance, problem-solving, patience, perspective-building, and practice for our pincer grasp! ๐งฉ
Family Day comes round once a year but it stays on our minds for at least a week more ๐ we love to see our community of all ages lean into some serious PLAY! ๐คพ๐ป
This little human shook his head when he was asked if he was ready to go down the slide, and sat for a while, looking around, and deep in thought. His teacher was nearby to hold space for him, giving encouragement and reassurance every now and thenโฆ until he finally made the move for one last slide down this sunny moment at school ๐
Some days, we need a little more time to do that new thing weโre still learning or that everyday thing that we already know. Take your time to remind yourself that ๐๐ผ you ๐๐ผ can ๐๐ผ do it!
The classroom offers endless possibilities to discover new things and new ways of being in the world! Have you looked through binoculars lately, or walked on colorful squishy cushions? Each corner and detail of the classroom has a fresh experience to offer our students ๐๐
The driveway of our Campus is an essential space to hold the morning and afternoon rush, and we end up not thinking much about it! But did you know it also has the purpose of teaching our students about safety when out and about on the streets of our neighborhood? With a trusted grown-up, we learn to understand colors red and green, and the marks on the road for walking! ๐ฆ
Monday blues? More like a Monday buzz for us here on Campus! We love this weekly moment to see our friends from all the different classrooms. ๐ ๐
Happy February! We can hardly wait, because February means FAMILY! Does everyone have their team shirts already? ๐คฉ
