MGEN ELPIDIO B TALJA PAF, the Commander of the Air Force Reserve Command (AFRC), graced the BCMT Graduation Ceremony of Class 2023 Bravo - Mandirigmang Lumalaban sa Himpapawid (MANLAWID) as the Guest of Honor and Speaker at the PAF Gymnasium, Villamor Air Base.

BGEN CHARITO B PLAZA PAF (RES) administered the oath to the new 58 reservists, which included Miss Universe Philippines 2023 Michelle Marquez Dee. She warmly welcomed them to the 1st Air Force Wing Reserve (AFWR) following their intensive 30-day training under the 1st Air Reserve Center (ARCen), led by COL RITZA ANN M JOVELLANOS PAF (GSC).

Under the law, the reserve force may be mobilized by the President to augment the AFP regular force in the event of war, invasion, or rebellion. They also play a crucial role in providing aid during disaster or calamities, supporting socioeconomic development initiatives, and contributing to the operation and maintenance of essential government or private utilities.

𝐈𝐧𝐭𝐞𝐫𝐧𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐚𝐥 𝐂𝐨𝐚𝐬𝐭𝐚𝐥 𝐂𝐥𝐞𝐚𝐧-𝐔𝐩 𝐃𝐚𝐲 🌊

Nakiisa ang Philippine Air Force, sa pangunguna ni BGEN CHARITO B PLAZA, LTC ELMER NICOLAS, at MAJ CELERINO UMANDAP, sa International Coastal Clean-up (ICC) Day sa Manila Baywalk Dolomite Beach kasama ang higit sa 4,500 volunteers mula sa iba’t ibang ahensya ng gobyerno, eskwelahan, at pribadong organisasyon.

Lumahok naman ang 13th Air Force Group Reserve (13th AFGR) sa pangunguna nina LTC JO LIM at MAJ ANOTNIO UY, sa clean-up sa Las Piñas-Parañaque Wetland Park kasama ang 59 volunteers.

Ang ICC ay isang coastal clean-up movement na ginaganap taon taon sa buong Pilipinas at sa buong mundo sa higit na 100 na bansa. Ang tema ngayong taon ay “Clean Seas for Healthy Fisheries.”

ICC is a coastal clean-up movement held yearly around the Philippines and around different 100 countries. This year’s theme is “𝗖𝗹𝗲𝗮𝗻 𝗦𝗲𝗮𝘀 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗛𝗲𝗮𝗹𝘁𝗵𝘆 𝗙𝗶𝘀𝗵𝗲𝗿𝗶𝗲𝘀.”

Despite heavy rains, the 1st Air Force Wing Reserve and 12th Air Force Group Reserve conducted a medical and dental mission at San Andres Apostol Parish (SAAP) in Greenwoods on September 3, 2023.

What made this mission special was the determination of SAAP's parishioners and volunteers who braved the rain to receive or provide healthcare services.

On National Heroes' Day, Wing Commander BGEN PLAZA, her esteemed officers, and enlisted personnel from 1AFWR and 11th Air Force Group Reserve paid respect at the PEFTOK Korean War Memorial Hall, meeting military veterans who served during the Korean War. A moving reminder of the bravery of the Philippine Expeditionary Forces to Korea (PEFTOK), embodied by their success at the Battle of Miudong—the first victory of Filipino soldiers on foreign land. Special recognition to Sgt Alfred Yalong PAF (Res), lecturer during the museum tour, for keeping their legacy alive. The visit concluded with a moving short film highlighting the valor of PEFTOK.

In a gathering at Tomb of the Unknown Soldier at the Libingan ng mga Bayani in Taguig City, 150 Philippine Air Force reservists from 11th Air Force Group Reserve and 12th Air Force Group Reserve marked National Heroes' Day on August 28, 2023.

President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. led the event, honoring modern Filipino heroes who contribute to the nation's progress. The reservists' presence highlighted that heroism isn't just history—it's an ongoing commitment found in everyday acts of service and unity.

"The Philippine Air Force (PAF) pinned new ranks to 15 newly commissioned and promoted reservist officers in a ceremony held at the PAF national headquarters in Villamor Air Base, Pasay City recently."

PAF dons rank to 15 newly promoted, commissioned reservists Major Gen. Elpidio Talja, commander of Air Force Reserve Command (AFRC), led the donning of ranks ceremony at the Agunod Hall in honor of the new reservist officers.

The 1st Air Force Wing Reserve Commander BGEN CHARITO B PLAZA MNSA PAF (Res) receives the Outstanding Alumni Reservist award, joined by her dedicated officers.

Last July 23, 2023, we took a significant step towards disaster preparedness as our reservists from the 13th Air Force Group Reserve underwent exclusive firefighting skills training, thanks to the incredible efforts of 1LT Ellen Chua and the Association of Philippine Fire Volunteer Brigade, Inc.

Held during the National Disaster Resilience Month, this event aimed to equip our participants with essential knowledge and expertise in firefighting, ensuring they're always ready to protect our communities in times of crisis.

Special thanks to LTC Maria Jocelyn Lim, 13th AFGR Group Commander, for leading this crucial initiative with unwavering dedication. Together, we stand stronger, united, and committed to safeguarding our beloved nation. 🇵🇭💙
