Sometimes, God allows us to fall because maybe we are already thinking highly of ourselves. Pride is a dangerous thing, it stops from receiving correction, accepting failures, listening to advice, in other words it stops us from learning and growing. So, pause for a moment and examine your heart, check your motives, and humble yourself in prayer.

Proverbs 11:2
When pride comes, then comes disgrace, but with the humble is wisdom.

Jeremiah 9:23-24
