Biodiesel, also known as fatty acid methyl ester (FAME), is a renewable, biodegradable fuel from vegetable oils, animal fats, even recycled cooking greases and oils. Pure biodiesel is commonly blended with ultralow-sulphur diesel fuel (ULSD) to make up ratios of biodiesel in the fuel blend. Two methods for FAME content analysis in biodiesel are the ASTM D7371 and EN 14078. In this webinar we discuss these quick, easy methods and their implementation in detail.

Both these methods are available on our Spectrum™ Two and Spectrum 3™ FTIR platforms. Starter calibrations are provided so calibrations can be validated independently and updated with customer samples. The software provides flexibility for biodiesel analysis, data collection and analysis according to the ASTM D7371-07 and EN 14078:2003 protocol, and report generation.
