CBA WARRIORS HAVE SPOKEN!

Congratulations to the newly-elected officers of the University of the East (UE)-Manila College of Business Administration Student Council (CBASC) for the academic year 2023-2024.

The UE Manila Commission on Elections (Comelec) released the results today, May 4. This year's UESC elections marked the return of face-to-face election campaigning and Miting-de-Avance after two years purely online due to the pandemic.

PARA PO! PARA SA BAYAN!

Ayon sa datos ng Kagawaran ng Transportasyon, may mahigit 55,000 jeepney sa Metro Manila. Mayroong 600,000 tsuper sa buong bansa. Nangunguna ang mga tradisyonal jeepney bilang pangunahing transportasyon ng commuters sa Pilipinas na may 55% mataas kahit pagsama-samahin ang porsyento ng buses (29%), tren (18), UV Express (11%), at modern jeepneys (10%). Sa pag-aaral ni Dr. Cresencio Montalbo Jr., ang bilang ng commuters sa Pilipinas ay sobra-sobra sa 9 milyong pilipino.

May mga estudyante na gumigising ng 4:00 ng umaga makaabot lamang sa 7:30 nilang pasok. May mga manggagawa na kinakailangang makipag-unahan sa pagsakay sapagkat mahuhuli sa trabaho. Dagdag pasanin ang patuloy na pagtaas ng pasahe sa araw-araw na buhay ng ordinaryong pilipino.

Ang jeepney modernization ay matagal ng isyung pampolitikal. Hindi ito sagot sa malala at palpak na sistemang transportasyon at trapiko na nagpapahirap sa mga mamamayan. Tinatanggalan ng mga banyagang korporasyon at mga oligarko ng karapatan mag-hanapbuhay at matustusan ang pangangailangan ng mga tsuper at kanilang mga pamilya.

KAISA tayo sa paglaban at pagkondena ng Jeepney Modernization. Ang transportasyon ay karapatan, demokratiko, serbisyong pampubliko, at katarungang panlipunan.

Babae patuloy kang umabante, dahil ikaw ang BUKAS. ✊🏻💛

This month is designated to unite women in all fields in order to bring out the bizarre roles of the Filipinas. It is the passion and the desire for equality that leads us here. Gender must not be one of the preferences in order to be involved in political and socio-cultural conversations. We are continuously breaking gender stereotypes and exceeding society’s expectations. We have to take a role in this battle whatever role that may be for you. Allow us to narrate the stories of inspiring women in their own fields.

Let us remove the chains we endured for long. Together we are trailblazers and harbingers of change. It’s time for society to perceive us not only to bear a child but carry’ hope, change, nation, and empower.

Unitedly, let’s celebrate this month by hearing the empowering stories of women from UE KAISA.
