| Kangaroo Father Care

JCI Baliwag Buntal, City Nutrition, and City Health Offices launched the Kangaroo Father Care project last June 20 at Baliwag Business Center, Baliwag City.

Kangaroo care, by definition, is an important part of family-centered care that when applied to preterm or term infants, provides interaction between the parent and the baby, and is a method that ensures skin-to-skin contact by placing the baby, with a diaper only, on the parent's chest in an upright position, then supports exclusive breastfeeding.

This project is meant to break gender stereotypes about parenting roles by teaching and encouraging men to take an active role in caring for newborns and their wives.
