Quezon City Public Library

The Official page of the Quezon City Public Library (QCPL) Standard safety protocols must be properly observed in the premises.

In compliance with the IATF-EID updated guidelines, QCPL will accommodate a maximum of 80% indoor capacity from Monday to Friday; 8am-5pm, for fully-vaccinated adults (at least 2 weeks after the 2nd dose) and minors, regardless of vaccination status. Vaccination card and valid ID must be presented.

Matagal na ang nakalipas, ngunit ngayon ay pagkakataon nating muling balikan at pagyamanin ang kasaysayan ng Pampublikong Aklatan ng Lungsod Quezon.

Sa darating na ika-16 ng Agosto, tatlong araw mula ngayon, ang QCPL ay magdiriwang ng ika-76 na anibersaryo nito. Sama-sama nating ipagdiwang ang mahaba at makulay na paglalakbay ng ating aklatan at ang mga kontribusyon nito sa ating komunidad. ✨❤️

The QCPL – Sagana Homes I Branch hosted an enriching livelihood activity centered around bracelet making! Participants delved into the art of creating and crafting beautiful bracelets. It was a joy to witness the community come together to learn and create.

It was a delightful gathering where coffee flowed freely, fostering meaningful conversations and a deep sense of togetherness.

The community gathered for a magical storytelling journey that sparked the imagination of children, celebrating literacy while also promoting our library’s amazing services and resources. The storytelling activity promoted the library use not only among children but also to their parents.

The QCPL-MRB Commonwealth Branch successfully concluded its Reading Tutorial Batch 2 last July 20, 2024, at Barangay Commonwealth (East Side) Stage. This second batch marked a significant milestone as reading tutorials were simultaneously conducted on both the East and West Sides of Barangay Commonwealth.

We are proud to present the twenty-nine (29) completers who benefitted from the program. A huge thanks to our dedicated volunteers whose passion for teaching young minds made this achievement possible.

We extend our heartfelt gratitude to our partner, Barangay Commonwealth, especially to Kagawad Rowena E. Lucas, for her continuous support and active presence throughout the activity.

The activity was also graced by the presence of Ms. Mary Ann L. Bernal, OIC-Assistant City Librarian, Ms. Analiza C. Martinez, Head of District Libraries Division, and the District Libraries Division Team.

QCPL provided sumptuous meals for all attendees. The program may have ended yet its positive impact will continue to shine.

Ika-siyam ng Agosto taong pangkasalukuyan, nagtungo ang ating Pansamantalang Tagapamahala ng Aklatang Panglunsod Mariza G. Chico sa Barangay ng Camp Aguinaldo upang makipagpulong sa kanilang Punong Barangay Kgg. Maria Franics M. Escandor at kanilang tinalakay ang pagkakaroon ng Silid Aklatan sa naturang Barangay. Layunin ng pagpupulong na ito ang makapagbigay serbisyo sa ating mga QCitizens at maibalik ang komunidad sa pagbabasa. Ito ay magandang simula sa pagbabalik eskwela ng mga kabataan at sila ay mailayo sa masasamang bisyo.

Puzzle-Loving Teens took over QCPL-Bagong Silangan Branch!

Last August 1, 2024, the library was transformed into a vibrant jigsaw puzzle hub! High school students jumped right into a world of interlocking pieces, fostering teamwork and friendly competition.

We are incredibly grateful to Jigsaw Puzzle Community PH for these amazing puzzle donations. Your generosity brought joy and excitement to our young patrons.

The Quezon City Public Library – Nayong Kanluran Branch had an amazing time conducting a Guitar and Ukelele Tutorial for our talented community children of Barangay Nayong Kanluran last June 10 - July 17, 2024, led by our very own staff, Mr. Michael John Francis E. Garcia. The enthusiasm and dedication from these young learners were truly inspiring. To cap off the session, we were treated to a fantastic performance by one of our own student, Terrence Lucas.

Early Birds at the Library!

Last July 31, 2024, children made an early visit to the QCPL MRB Commonwealth Branch, arriving immediately after it opened. Their early arrival allowed them to enjoy the serene environment in the library. During that time, a Kuya took the opportunity to help his younger sibling learn how to read, turning their visit into a meaningful educational experience. That peaceful atmosphere provided the perfect backdrop for this special moment of learning and togetherness.

Kaugnay ng selebrasyon ng Buwan ng Wikang Pambansa 2024, malugod na tinanggap ng mga tagapangasiwa at kawani ng Pampublikong Aklatan ng Lungsod Quezon ang mga kinatawan mula sa Sentro ng Wikang Filipino-Unibersidad ng Pilipinas (SWF-UP Diliman) sa pangunguna ni Dr. Jayson D. Petras, Direktor ng SWF-UP Diliman.

Katuwang ng ating Aklatan, inilunsad ng SWF-UPD ang proyektong pinamagatang "Handog-Dunong: Donasyong Libro." Layunin ng nabanggit na proyekto na maitaguyod ang edukasyon at literasiya sa ating komunidad. Sila rin ay nagbigay ng mga libro na makakatulong sa ating mga mambabasa at sa pagyabong ng koleksyon ng ating aklatan.

Mula sa pamunuan ng Pampublikong Aklatan ng Lungsod Quezon, sa pangunguna nina Gng. Mariza G. Chico at Gng. Mary Ann L. Bernal, isang taos-pusong pasasalamat na kami ay maging kabahagi ng proyektong ito.

About QCPL

Brief History

Quezon City Public Library (QCPL) was established on August 16, 1948, and was inaugurated on October 23, 1948. However, upon its transfer to its new building, it was re-inaugurated on February 6, 2017. It is composed of a main library located in front of QC Hall of Justice and 18 branch libraries scattered all over Quezon City. The QCPL collection is composed of 116, 078 volumes wherein the main library has 19,697 volumes of it and remaining 96, 381 volumes are distributed in its different branch libraries, have a total of 76 computer stations for Online Public Access Catalog (OPAC), encoding and internet available free of charge to QC residents.
