The Sanggunian President has signed Executive Order No. 2, 2024-2025 titled "Creating the Ateneo Seniors' Alliance (ASA) for School Year 2024-2025"

The Ateneo Seniors' Alliance (ASA) is hereby created as a Project Team under the Office of the President (OP) to ensure that undergraduate graduating students are properly represented in the deliberation of matters relating to their events, affairs, and activities.

The project team shall coordinate with the Higher and University administrations as the representative of the undergraduate graduating student body in all of the commencement-related concerns including the committees, teams, working groups, and task forces to be formed by the University administration.

There will be 11 members of the Project Team to be led by two (2) Co-Chairpersons and eight (8) School Representatives. Furthermore, a Project Overseer will be appointed by the Sanggunian President who shall provide inputs and advice on the initiatives, activities, or operations of the Ateneo Seniors’ Alliance and to Receive, document, and address all grievances associated in their operations.

Today, 8 September 2024, we celebrate the Feast of the Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary. Our Lady is the patron saint of Ateneo, born out of St Ignatius of Loyola’s own devotion to her. Her image is found all over campus, from the Immaculate Conception Chapel in Gonzaga Hall to the statue in the Ateneo Junior High School. We have adopted her color to be our school colors, and of course, our alma mater song, with words by Fr James Reuter SJ, is dedicated to her.

As we celebrate her feast day, let us remember to stay faithful and constantly true to the Lord, and to become beacons of hope, grace, and peace.

Last April, the Philippines experienced high heat indices during the summer season. This raised concerns about public health and safety amidst the high temperatures, especially for students. The discourse on providing additional air conditioning units to selected classrooms inside the Ateneo campus was also raised for the University administration's consideration.

Given the University's commitment to become a Laudato Si' and carbon-neutral institution by 2030, and considering the expected increased energy expenses, the University administration would like to consult the studentry on strategically adding air conditioners in classrooms where it is needed most.
