Cheers to a year filled with both challenges and success stories!

2023 has been two-sides of the coin for The Department of Emergency Medicine. We were given new tests and hurdles, but there is nothing that can stop our growing family from winning. Not only because we have more residents and consultants that we were able to overcome it all, but because we were strongly woven together into one formidable super machine. We were able to see the difficult side of residency at its extremest, but we were able to see ourselves through it with the support from our consultants and from one another. The story of our 2023 proved that the next time you get asked the question, “who do you save and bring with you when the boat sinks?” The correct answer is, EVERYONE—because you need each and everyone to survive what lies ahead whether the boat continues to sink or not.

Here’s to closing our 2023 with a bang! Maraming salamat sa lahat ng sumuporta (from hospital admins, consultants, nurses, medreps ) most especially the one who started it all, the father of JBLMGH EMed Dr. Alfonso Danac
