August 13, 2024 | A total of 23 Persons Deprived of Liberty (PDLs), who are beneficiaries of DOLE's Tulong Panghanapbuhay sa Ating Disadvantaged Workers (TUPAD) program, received their wages amounting to P3,950.00 each during the payout on August 13, 2024, at Sablayan Municipal Jail.

This initiative reflects the ongoing commitment of DOLE to support and rehabilitate PDLs, helping them reintegrate into society with dignity and hope.

To promote the welfare of the family as an essential factor in workplace productivity, the Department of Labor and Employment-Occidental Mindoro Provincial Office conducted a Family Welfare Program (FWP) orientation at WBI Onion Cold Storage on August 8, 2024, at Brgy. Mapaya, in San Jose.

Attended by 30 representatives both from workers and management, the orientation focused on tackling the 10 key dimensions of the FWP, including Responsible Parenthood, Gender and Development, Spiritual and Values Formation, Livelihood Development, Medical and Health Care, Nutrition, Environmental Protection, Sanitation and Hygiene, Sports and Leisure, Housing, and Transportation, and the Safe Spaces Act.

To promote workplace safety and health, the Department of Labor and Employment—Occidental Mindoro Provincial Office holds an Occupational Safety and Health (OSH) Orientation to four cooperatives in Sablayan on August 1–2, 2024, at Brgy. Tuban, Sablayan, Occidental Mindoro.

The orientation was held in collaboration with the Department of Agrarian Reform (DAR) and attended by 62 participants from Tuban Blessed Farmers Multi-Purpose Cooperative (TUBBFARMCO), Sta. Lucia Sablayan Multi-Purpose Cooperative (SLSMPC), United as One Agriculture Cooperative (UNOACO), and Ganadong Magsasaka Agriculture Cooperative (GMAC).

Nagsagawa ang Department of Labor and Employment Occidental Mindoro Provincial Office ng oryentasyon tungkol sa National Skills Registry Program (NSRP) para sa mga opisyal ng barangay sa bayan ng Rizal noong Hulyo 31, 2024.

Ang nasabing oryentasyon ay dinaluhan ng 11 na mga punong barangay at kawani ng Public Employment Service Office (PESO). Sila ay binigyan ng kaalaman tungkol sa mga layunin at proseso ng NSRP, isang programang idinisenyo upang mapanatili ang isang napapanahong database ng mga aktibong naghahanap ng trabaho, na tumutulong upang maitugma ang mga bakanteng trabaho sa mga kwalipikadong aplikante base na rin sa kanilang mga kakayahan.

𝐇𝐚𝐩𝐩𝐞𝐧𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐍𝐨𝐰: Rollout of the Omnibus Guidelines on the Exercises of Freedom of Association and Civil Liberties at Season's Hotel and Convention Center, Brgy. San Roque, San Jose, Occidental Mindoro.

The omnibus meeting was attended by management and labor representatives from various establishments in the province with existing labor-management cooperation (LMC) and grievance machinery (GM).

The Omnibus Guidelines govern the conduct of stakeholders from the government, labor, and employer in the private sector relative to the workers' exercise of freedom of association, the right to organize, collectively bargain, and engage in peaceful concerted activities, including public assemblies.

DOLE Government Internship Program (GIP) The DOLE GIP provides 3-6 months internship for high school, tech-voc or college graduates who want to pursue a career in government service.

𝐑𝐄𝐀𝐃: 𝗟𝗔𝗕𝗢𝗥 𝗔𝗗𝗩𝗜𝗦𝗢𝗥𝗬 𝗡𝗢. 𝟭𝟳-𝟮𝟮 on the 𝗦𝘂𝘀𝗽𝗲𝗻𝘀𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗼𝗳 𝗪𝗼𝗿𝗸 𝗶𝗻 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗣𝗿𝗶𝘃𝗮𝘁𝗲 𝗦𝗲𝗰𝘁𝗼𝗿 𝗯𝘆 𝗥𝗲𝗮𝘀𝗼𝗻 𝗼𝗳 𝗪𝗲𝗮𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗿 𝗗𝗶𝘀𝘁𝘂𝗿𝗯𝗮𝗻𝗰𝗲𝘀 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗦𝗶𝗺𝗶𝗹𝗮𝗿 𝗢𝗰𝗰𝘂𝗿𝗿𝗲𝗻𝗰𝗲𝘀 to guide employers and workers on the pay rules where there is suspension of work to ensure the safety and health of employees during weather disturbances and similar occurrences.

The Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE)-Occidental Mindoro Provincial Office extended its TUPAD program to a total of 3,362 disadvantaged workers in Occidental Mindoro.

The beneficiaries were from the areas of SAMARICA (San Jose, Magsaysay, Rizal, and Calintaan) and MAPSSA (Mamburao, Paluan, Sablayan, Santa Cruz, and Abra de Ilog), who will be receiving P5,925.00 each for the 15-day service they will render starting July 17 until July 31, 2024.

The Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE)-Occidental Mindoro Provincial Office awarded a livelihood grant to Ms. Amelita V. Tapales, a former public utility vehicle (jeepney) operator for nearly a decade.

Tapales, 52, residing in Barangay Rumbang, Rizal, used to operate on the San Jose to Rizal route and vice versa but was forced to stop due to the PUV Modernization Program. This setback rerouted her to a new livelihood—a cake and pastry business.

A total of 155 parents and guardians of profiled child laborers in Santa Cruz have undergone DOLE Kabuhayan Orientation on July 11–12, 2024.

The orientation, which includes the other DOLE programs and services, was held in the barangays of Alacaak, Casague, Barahan, Dayap, and Mulawin. This is in line with the department’s aim for the prevention and elimination of child labor in the country, with a vision of a child labor-free Philippines.

𝐃𝐎𝐋𝐄 𝐆𝐈𝐏 𝐛𝐞𝐧𝐞𝐟𝐢𝐭𝐬 𝟖𝟐 𝐲𝐨𝐮𝐧𝐠 𝐰𝐨𝐫𝐤𝐞𝐫𝐬 𝐢𝐧 𝐎𝐜𝐜𝐢𝐝𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐚𝐥 𝐌𝐢𝐧𝐝𝐨𝐫𝐨

At least 82 young workers in Occidental Mindoro were given an opportunity to work in various government offices in the province through the Department of Labor and Employment’s Government Internship Program (DOLE-GIP).

The intern-beneficiaries will work for five months starting July 16 until December 15, 2024, in partner government agencies, including municipal police stations, performing various tasks such as encoding, filing, assisting, and other administrative functions.

The Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) Occidental Mindoro Provincial Office awarded a livelihood grant to Ms. Marivic O. Co to enhance her water-refilling station last July 9, 2024, at the OccMin Provincial Office.

Marivic O. Co, 52, who has been operating her water refilling station for the past 20 years in Brgy. Pag-asa in San Jose recently completed the DOLE’s Technical and Advisory Visit (TAV) in 2023 and underwent the productivity module during the visit. This initiative has taught Co efficient business management and effective customer service.

To demonstrate the government’s commitment to inclusivity and rehabilitation, the Department of Labor and Employment Occidental Mindoro Provincial Office, in cooperation with the Bureau of Jail Management and Penology (BJMP), has extended its TUPAD program to 56 Persons Deprived of Liberty (PDLs) in the Province.

Out of the 56 beneficiaries, 33 participants in San Jose from the first, second, and third batches have begun working for 10 to 15 days between June 5–14, June 18–July 2, and July 11–21, 2024, respectively. They are expected to receive wages ranging from P3,950.00 to P5,925.00.
