To our friends of TonG Coffee, the Salcedo Community Market has been cancelled tomorrow, Saturday, 27May23 due to the Super Typhoon. Stay safe and see you next Saturday.

From left to right: Dad Ike, Emilia, Jacobo, Joaquin, and Mom Narda Miranda.

Coffee truly brings people together — co-workers in the pantry over a morning cup, siblings at the kitchen table, old friends at the neighborhood cafe. ☕️

Today’s featured vendors, the Mirandas, are no different. But more than just sharing a cup, they share a common love and passion for coffee. They also share the responsibilities of running the successful business that is @tong_coffee_.

Ike did not mean for it to be a venture in the beginning. He only started it because he could not find the kind of coffee that his taste buds were looking for. He went to his hometown of Tanauan Batangas. One thing led to another and Ton G Coffee was born!

The brand was named after Narda’s father, Antonio “Tony” Belloso Goñi who roasted his own coffee in Bais City, Negros Oriental. It’s actually not pronounced as “tong” like the kitchen tool but “Ton G” after Tony G.

They have four variants: 100% Batangas Barako, Casero Blend, Cosmopolitan Blend, and 100% Arabica. All are Philippine beans. All are best sellers because Ike blends and roasts them weekly himself. He’s been doing this for so long he has already mastered the demand and only roasts what they move in a week. They also have cold brew aside from beans and ground coffee.

Ton G Coffee has been with the Salcedo Community Market since August 2006. Even before the pandemic, they have already weathered many many storms. They were at the market when Ondoy happened in 2009. Ike was holding on to the posts of their tents! If that’s not grit, we don’t know what is! 🤎

Ton G Coffee has gained so much popularity that their products have made their way to coffee shops in Bacolod, Dumaguete, Siargao, Tagaytay, El Nido and a few other provinces.

Check out Ton G Coffee this Saturday, Aug 13, from 7am to 2pm. They’re located inside the Jaime Velasquez Park. 💚🧡 11/08/2022
