HAPPY TEACHER'S DAY TO ALL OF SMNHS TEACHER'S!
Celebrating Teachers’ Day
In academic institutions, among the various events celebrated every year, Teachers’ day is considered as an important occasion. It is one day in the whole academic year when teachers are made to feel special and valued.
On Teachers’ day, students put up cultural performances and conduct games for teachers. The Institution, on the other hand, provides a special lunch or refreshments and mementoes as a token of their appreciation for the invaluable service they render.
However, the education scenario has changed drastically from a time when teachers graded students for their performance to the present when students are asked to fill up survey forms to rate teachers. This is good as long as it is constructive and aids in the betterment of both teachers and students. This system, on the contrary, has been risking the job security of teachers for no fault of theirs. It is a pity that a teacher would most probably lose his/her job if he/she is not able to please the children and their parents. Teachers have almost become puppets in the hands of the students and management. In such a situation, Teachers’ day might turn out to be the only good day in the lives of teachers. Whatever be the case, every teacher deserves to be recognized, and a day like Teachers’ day would be the perfect occasion to do so.

A Day to Remember Our Dearest Teachers
The influence a teacher makes on an individual extends beyond the classroom. Teachers put in tremendous effort to understand their students and cater to them wholeheartedly. They take much care in moulding the character of their students, thereby helping them grow into compassionate and socially responsible individuals. Teachers’ day is an occasion for us to remember our dear teachers and be grateful to them for the role they play in our lives.
A teacher is the building block on which a society is built. The responsibility of a teacher is huge as they perform the job of shaping intellectual and creative minds who turn out to be the future of society. In Dr. Radhakrishnan’s opinion, “Teachers should be the best minds in the country”. Celebrated in his honour, Teachers’ day turns out to be a day to remember, appreciate, applaud and thank our teachers for providing us intellectual and moral guidance and support.
No matter how old we grow, there are a few teachers with whom we would like to share the progress we make in our lives, some who understand and believe in us more than our parents do, some whom we would run to no matter when and where we catch sight of them and some who turn out to be great friends apart from being wonderful teachers. Teachers’ day is a chance to let these teachers know how much of an influence they have made in our lives. Sometimes, it is just another occasion; it is not necessary that you have to wait until Teachers’ day to show your gratitude towards them for their constant love and support.
Contrary to all this is the present day, an age in which teachers are disrespected and disregarded for the kind of hard work they put into educating and empowering students, a day like this is absolutely necessary. It is a pain to see teachers being accused for various reasons, sometimes for no fault of theirs. In such an environment, Teachers’ day can be a day for teachers to rethink their role and responsibilities as a teacher and for students to understand the importance of having teachers who really care for them.

PAANO NGA BA NAGSIMULA ANG TEACHER'S DAY?
HALINA AT ATING ALAMIN!
History Behind Teachers’ Day
Teachers have been acclaimed for their selfless service all around the world from the beginning of time. They have been considered as makers of a nation. They take care of kids from the time they are five or six till they are 18 to 20 years of age. Like it is said, the formative years of a child determine the kind of person he or she would grow up to be, and this is mostly in the hands of their teachers.
For the kind of dedication teachers show, it would be wrong not to express our gratitude. In order to laud the teachers for their accomplishments and service, UNESCO started the tradition of celebrating Teachers’ day all over the world in October 1994. However, in India, Teachers’ Day is celebrated on the 5th of September every year in honour of Dr. Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan, who was a scholar, teacher and politician, for his exemplary contribution to the field of education.

Halika at basahin mo ang tungkol sa Self-love!
What is self-love?
Before a person is able to practice it, first we need to understand what it means.
Self-love is a state of appreciation for oneself that grows from actions that support our physical, psychological and spiritual growth. Self-love means having a high regard for your own well-being and happiness. Self-love means taking care of your own needs and not sacrificing your well-being to please others. Self-love means not settling for less than you deserve.
For many people, the concept of self-love might conjure images of tree-hugging hippies or cheesy self-help books. But, as many psychology studies attest, self-love and -compassion are key for mental health and well-being, keeping depression and anxiety at bay. Below, we take a look at some of the things that you can do to nurture this core feeling.
“Why is self-love important?” you might ask. For many of us, self-love might sound like a luxury rather than a necessity — or a new-age fad for those with too much time on their hands.
Ironically, however, self-care and -compassion might actually be needed most by those of us who work too hard and who are constantly striving to surpass ourselves and grasp the shape-shifting phantasm of perfection.
To practice self-care, we often need to go back to the basics and
Listen to our bodies
Take breaks from work and move/stretch.
Put the phone down and connect to yourself or others, or do something creative.
Eating healthily, but sometimes indulge in your favorite foods.

Poverty Is Not An Hindrance to Success
If you are poor, then try harder and harder to succeed. Poverty is not a hindrance to success but laziness and discouragement are. Determination is the biggest key to become successful, when you are determined, nothing can stop you. Then, poverty becomes a chance for you to learn how to be patient and overcome all the difficulties on your own.
Being poor does not mean you do not have the right to dream and make it come true. If life does not give you an opportunity, then create it!
Opportunities do not come to anyone who just stands there and waits for them, they come to the ones who dare to take action. If you do not have enough money to go to school, then study harder to get scholarships, if you do not have enough money to start up a company, then call for funds from rich people. Every problem has its solution to tackle, work hard to find it.
The real obstacle that poverty brings to people is the wrong conception of success and short vision. Poor people usually think that they are not rich because they come from poor families and their parents cannot pay for their dreams. Or when they find jobs, they will want jobs that are highly paid and also cushy. The problem of poverty is actually the problem of education, people had better be taught to have the courage to follow their dreams and work harder instead of blaming circumstances.

Comprehensive Sexuality Education: Developing responsible youth vs rising risks
A curriculum-based process of teaching and learning, CSE is anchored on cognitive, emotional, physical and social aspects of s*xuality that is scientific, age- and developmentally appropriate, culturally and gender-responsive, and with rights-based approach. Likewise, it’s implementation shall involve parents-teachers-community associations, school officials, civil society organizations, and other interest groups that ensure cultural acceptability, efficiency, and appropriateness of key concepts and messages.
As it equips learners with knowledge, skills, attitude and values, CSE will help them develop critical thinking in relation to risky behaviors and empower them to realize their health, well-being, and dignity. It is also expected to contribute to better learning outcomes, reduced dropout rate, increased completion rate, and improved quality of learning.
