The TERM “ACHAAH’S “ origin?

Good morning to everyone reading this! :)

I’d like to tell you a story on why we came up on this name for about 18 years and we still managed to continue our vision & mission for 18 years and so on. And for those years, Patient’s Family, Friends, Visitors, Guest, & different colleagues and almost everyone asking the same question.

Who is ACHAAH’S? Is this the name of the one who pioneered on the year 2000 which it started as a solely daily independent standing clinic only focused on childbirth wherein those days the competition is from the cultural way of giving birth the “KUMADRONAS” were there and also good at their ways of birth. But in due time due to increase of Health Hazard of mother & baby, those kumadronas were lessen and almost diminished up to this time.

Kumadronas by the way are the traditional birth home attendants. The local government started to enforce the policy which prohibits the delivery of newborns at home by traditional birth attendants or local "kumadronas." In a statement by the DOH, it said maternal deaths are caused by hypertensive disorder, severe hemorrhage or other labor or abortion-related problems and child death due to infection, which can be prevented by having child-deliveries at proper health facilities.

Aside from child deliveries, the birthing clinic also offers pre and post-natal check-up and routine blood tests and diagnostics to ensure the health of the patients.

Under question Meanwhile, Gabriela Partylist introduced House Resolution 1531, questioning the DOH policy. Gabriela said that according to the Family Health Survey, maternal deaths increased to 221 per 100,000 live births in 2011 from 209 in 1990. This is also the year when DOH updated the policy through the implementation of Maternal, Newborn, Child Health and Nutrition (MNCHN) strategy, as embodied in the MNCHN Manual of Operations, it said. In a statement, Dr. Honorata Catibog of the DOH Family Health Office was quoted as saying There is no such thing as ban on home births. We know the realities. Given our geography and resources, it is not realistic. We are simply advocating and encouraging facility-based deliveries." Currently, the House Committee on Health and Committee on Women and Gender Equality is also conducting an investigation about the DOH policy in aid of legislation to recommend measures that would address the high maternal and infant mortality rates in the country without violating the rights of mothers. In accordance with Officials here aims to improve women's and children's health, therefore effecting a rapid reduction in maternal and child's mortalities, according to the decree.

So what does ACHAAH’S Lying - In - Clinic mean? It is a recalled words sounded as “ATSA AS” but the right pronunciation is “AKAS”. It is not a name of the owner nor surname of anyone. It is an Acronym for the Family of the one who pioneered it since 2000. Solely Mrs. Circuncision aka “Ciony or Ate Ciony due to sounds like of her name”, Naguna itself.

A - This is sir,”Alvin P. Naguna Sr. (Emergency Cases OIC, He is a retired Armed Forces of the Philippines, Navy & Coast Guard)

C - This is my mom, “Circuncision B. Naguna” (She is the Brain of all the functions of this clinic for the past 18 years, She is a full pledge Bachelor of her course Midwifery and garnered awards here and abroad, She made a significant impact because of her eagerness on caring the maternal & the newborns, I’d like to say as of this moment that She is one of the foundation of her field)

H - This is my sister, “Hyacinth N. Reyes” (This is my beloved sister now working on Saudi Arabia on some military hospital. Btw, She is a Nurse-Midwife with license. She on the other hand is the one who is more connected to my mom’s field but she’s working abroad for her two children & for their future like my mom who worked on Saudi for almost 11 years then my mom, I know because of that Her family, my uncles and aunties benefited from it & now they were all successful on their own fields.

A - This is my sister, “Aibhen B. Naguna” (She is a RadTech, a registed one. She started working on our ultrasound services for our patients. Yet, the best is yet to come for her. That is her premed by the way. She is now a licensed Physician, a full pledge doctor waiting in line for her residency. She is now having twilight of her career, I mean Moonlighting. She is the symbol of hardwork of our family. And She is the greatest asset we need on our clinic.

A - This is my big bro, “Alvin B. Naguna Jr.” (He is a Pharmacist, and we are working on our license. By the way, He too is a greatest asset we need. Just so you know, we got plans to increase the scope of our field.

H - And lastly, This is me “ Harold B. Naguna at your service. I won’t brag anything. Haha. By the way, I am graduate of Bachelor of Medical Laboratory Science / Medical Technology. I think you got an idea on my scope or field of work.

‘S - Are you curious why there is apostrophe? This is for the Clinic STAFFS that serve our clinic since the year 2000 up until now 2018 month of January.

I’ll be listing the names of our wonderful well trained staffs: later on ^^, I’ll be updating the list but all in all that is the origin of ACHAAH’S LYING - IN - CLINIC - a maternity clinic you can trust, 18 years in this industry wherein we value life care & management of Newborn, Infant, Expecting Mothers, Full pledge Mothers and the continuous developement of the the child.
