Andre Aw (11-STEM) and Grace Gaw (12-STEM) spectacularly ended their run as Upper Secondary Open Grand Finalists.

Charlize Chua (11-ABM) and Katherine Lim (12-HUMSS) successfully reached the Upper Secondary Open Quarter Finals.
π Both Charlize Chua and Grace Gaw were awarded as the Joint 6th Best Speakers, while Katherine Lim was awarded as the 4th Best Speaker.

MGCNL Debate congratulates its contingent on the following competitions held during the Fourth Quarter of School Year 2021-2022!
We applaud Grace Gaw (11-STEM) and Francine Ty (12-STEM) for being Open Octofinalists of the Philippine Schools Debate Championship 2022.
We also congratulate Caitlin Gaw (10-C), Darren Chua (12-STEM), and Ramya Espiritu (SPCP) for being Open Quarterfinalists of this year's iteration of the Philippine Debate Open. Furthermore, we celebrate Caitlin being given the award of the Overall Best High School Speaker of the tournament. Last but not least, we commend Jasmin Ang (10-A) and her composites: Sam Tango and Kiel Mirandilla of AJHS for their run as Open Octofinalists.
We are also proud to announce MGCNL's sweep of the Athena Debating Championship! We congratulate Caitlin for being the Champion, the Overall Best Speaker, and the Finals Best Speaker of the tournament, alongside her teammates Sam Tango (AJHS) and Ramya Espiritu (SPCP). Meeting them in the tournament's finals are Jasmin, Grace, and Samara (10-B). We praise God for their success and commend Jasmin and Grace for being the 5th and 8th Best Speakers respectively.
Caitlin and her teammates: Abed Alihuddin (ADZU-SHS) and Ramya Espiritu (SPCP) broke third in this year's Bicol Intervarsity, where they competed up until the Open Semifinals. Individually, Caitlin was awarded the Overall Best High School Speaker Award and the Second Overall Best Open Speaker Award.
MGCNL had a full contingent break to the Sunway Asian Parliamentary 2022! Caitlin, Mathew Serna (PSHS-MC), and Ramya Espiritu (SPCP) broke ninth and ended their run at the Open Octofinals. Uel Cawaon (12-HUMSS), Jasmin, and Grace broke into the novice category and debated up until the Novice Semifinals. Individually, Caitlin was awarded as the 3rd Best High School Speaker and 4th Best Novice Speaker, and Jasmin took home the 6th Best High School Speaker Award.
Francine and Grace were Finalists at the 3rd International Law Debates 2022! Individually, Francine was the Overall Best Novice Speaker with both of them being the Joint Third Best Speaker of the Tournament!
That same weekend, Caitlin and Ramya went home as First Runner Ups and Finalists of the Troika British Parliamentary Debate 2022!
Grace, Caitlin, and Uel were also Novice Quarterfinalists at this year's Debatable Open!
Caitlin was a Subsidized Adjudicator at Pratija 2022 and an invited adjudicator at EDC Juniors 2022! She was also the 7th Best Open Speaker at Hong Kong Online WSDC International 4.0!
Last but not the least, Jasmin was the 3rd Best Open Speaker in this year's Ilocos Norte Debate Open! She debated up until the Open Semifinals in a composite team with Gabby Padrelanan (PHDS).

What better way to end the school year than ushering a new era? While we say goodbye to our previous officers, MGC Debate Varsity congratulates and welcomes the new ones! To God be the glory!
MGC Debate congratulates its contingent on the following competitions held during the Third Quarter of School Year 2021-2022!
We congratulate Caitlin and Grace Gaw for being the Champions of this year's Ateneo Eco Debates, with the former being the Final's Best Speaker. We also commend them both for being the Joint 3rd Best Speaker of the Tournament.
We also congratulate Francine Ty and Uel Cawaon for being the High School Champions of the International Parliamentary Debate Competition 2022. Darren Chua and Grace Gaw also put up a valiant effort, ending their wonderful run at the High School Semifinals. MGC Debate swept the top three speaker awards as well, with Francine Ty being the Overall Best Speaker, and Uel, Grace, and Darren being the Joint 2nd Best Speaker of the Tournament. We also commend Caitlin Gaw and Jasmin Ang for breaking into the Middle School Semifinals and Charlize Chua for breaking as an adjudicator to the Upper Primary Finals. MGC received a contingent-wide distinction from the tournament for having the highest average speaker scores in both the Middle School and High School Division.
Individually, we commend Caitlin Gaw for garnering the Overall Best Novice Speaker Award for Baguio Intervarsity 2022 and for being the Linkbate Debating Championships 2022 First Runner Up, 5th Best U16 Speaker, and 8th Best Open Speaker, both in a composite team with Ramya Espiritu (SPCP). We also commend her performance in the National University of Judicial Sciences Parliamentary Debate 2022, where she broke into the semifinals with Jacob Ty (SR) and Ramya Espiritu (SPCP).
We also commend Grace Gaw for chairing the Novice Semifinals of the Shaheed Bhagat Singh British Parliamentary Debate 2022, for breaking to the Open Octofinals of the Ilocos Norte Intervarsity 2022 with Darren Chua, and for being the First Reserve break of the National University of Judicial Sciences Parliamentary Debate 2022 with Jasmin Ang and Gabby Padrelanan (PHDS).
Last but not the least, we congratulate Jasmin Ang, Katherine Lim, and Athena Gamboa for being this year's SLIDE-UP Makiling Cup Champions! Shoutout to Jasmin Ang as well for being the Final's Best Speaker. MGC Debate also broke a team to the Open Octofinals, with Caitlin Gaw, Darren Chua, and Andre Aw ending their valiant run there. We also congratulate Grace Gaw for garnering 3rd Place in the Extemporaneous Speaking competition.

MGC Debate congratulates its contingent on the following competitions held during the Second Quarter of School Year 2021-2022!
MGC broke 2 teams in the UPDS-hosted Fast Forward, namely Jasmin Ang and Uel Cawaon, and Grace Gaw and Darren Chua. Both ended their wonderful runs in the novice quarterfinals, with Uel Cawaon and Jasmin Ang garnering the 2nd and 4th Best Novice Speaker awards respectively. We also commend the rest of the Fast Forward contingent for their efforts.
We celebrate Caitlin Gaw for breaking into the Diliman Debate Open Novice Finals with her composites Ramya Espiritu (SPCP) and Isabella Balde (ASHS) and the Axiom Debate Open 2021 Semifinals also with Ramya Espiritu (SPCP) and congratulate her and Jasmin Ang for clinching the Northern Luzon Online Debates High School Champion award in a composite team with Ramya Espiritu (SPCP). We also congratulate Jasmin Ang for being the High School Finals Best Speaker.

MGC enjoyed a full contingent break to the National Asians High School Debate Championship 2021, with MGC B (Aw, Baritua, Gaw) breaking second in the Novice category with 1849 speaker points and MGC A (Ang, Cawaon, Gaw) breaking third in the same category with 1830 speaker points. We especially congratulate Caitlin Gaw of MGC B for bagging the Overall Best Novice Speaker Award (an institution record) and MGC A for reaching the Novice Finals (another institution record)!
We also congratulate Caitlin Gaw and her composite, Ramya Espiritu (SPCP) for a great run to the Novice Semifinals of the Axiom Debate Open 2021!
