Friday was declared a holiday last minute and therefore, we are posting this late. The Great Ninja War Hero Naruto once said, "A hero always arrives late."

He was the light when the Philippines was shrouded by darkness.

PUBLIC ADVISORY

This is to inform the public that we are no longer associated with the following freelancers:

1. Barbara Donato
2. Lucyl Princess Nakadate
3. Sean Jhon Terania

Their contracts were terminated due to the following offenses:

1. Fraud - Submitting false reports in their work hours which led to financial losses.
2. Damages - Due to failure in performing their duties which led to our clients’ financial losses.
3. Data Privacy Act Violations - Illegally obtaining our company data, client’s data, and our client’s client’s data.

Please be warned that these freelancers pretended to be our employees for their personal gain. Our legal advisor, Attorney Balsy Batalla, already sent demand letters for reparations and to peacefully settle the issue. They received our demand letters according to LBC, but until today, we did not receive any intentions of settlement from them.

We were left with no choice but to sever ties with the abovementioned freelancers as part of our civil duties. We value accountability and integrity, and that is why we do not tolerate illegal actions.

The world of social media can be full of haters. Did you know that you are considered an accessory to the crime if you shared fake news?

Here are some top tips to prevent being manipulated by fake news:

Be skeptical of headlines and images. If something seems too good to be true, it probably is. Be especially wary of headlines that are sensationalized or designed to evoke strong emotions. And don't trust images that you see online unless you can verify their source.

Check the source. Where did the information come from? Is it a reputable news organization or a website that you've never heard of before? If you're not sure, do a quick Google search to see what other people are saying about the source.

Look for evidence. Does the article provide any evidence to support its claims? If not, it's probably not reliable. Look for things like links to other sources, quotes from experts, or data that can be independently verified.

Use fact-checking websites. There are a number of websites that can help you fact-check information. Some of the most popular include Snopes, FactCheck.org, and PolitiFact.

Be mindful of your own biases. We all have our own biases, and they can sometimes lead us to believe things that aren't true. Be aware of your own biases and try to be objective when evaluating information.

Don't share things without thinking. Before you share something on social media, take a moment to think about it. Is the information reliable? Is it something that you would want to share with your friends and family? If not, don't share it.

It's also important to remember that fake news is not always easy to spot. Even experienced journalists can be fooled. That's why it's important to be vigilant and to use these tips to help you stay safe.
