A Technical meeting of PCIP TWG was conducted last January 30, 2023 at Cliffโs Cafรฉ, Talaingod wherein the initial result of the Geotagging in the areas in Davao del Norte planted with Bamboo was presented and discussed for its inclusionto the Provincial Commodity Investment Plan (PCIP) for Bamboo.
Engr. Maria Hazel C. Zafra, EnP, MMPA presided the meeting in behalf of the Provincial Administrator Engr. Josie Jean R. Rabanoz, MPA, EnP. Attending the meeting are personnel from DTI, TESDA, PAGRO, PPDO, PENRO, DENR, PICKMO, MENRO, CENRO and PADO-DNIPC.
Engr. Zafra emphasized that as part of the formulation of the PCIP, environmental scanning on production and enterprise of bamboo must be done in accordance to the agreed timeline in order to proceed to the next level of the planning process.
In order to help Bamboo grass growers and potential investors of the province, the group headed by its TWG Head, Ms Alphabet Gulanes of PAGRO, premeditated a concrete businesswise plan and its possible ways to enhance the growth of different variety of bamboo and its by-product following a complete value chain.

LOOK| The Provincial Government of Davao del Norte has now started the facilitation of the Deed of Usufruct for the Supreme Court of the Philippines and Bureau of Treasury (BOT) spaces in the Provincial Government Center.
On January 6, 2022, Governor "kuya gov" Edwin I. Jubahib approved and signed the site development plans of the allotted locations in the government center for the two aforementioned agencies.
Present during the signing was Executive Judge Jimmy Boco along with other court judges assigned in Davnor and Mr. Joel Camiรฑa representative of BOT Regional Director Leticia Suribas.
Kuya Gov has always been proactive in building partnership and strengthening linkages between National Government Agencies and the Provincial Government of Davao del Norte.
LOOK | The Provincial Government of Davao del Norte through the initiatives of the office of the Assistant Provincial Administrator for Operations conducted the Community Outreach Program to the IP Communities at Sitio Mangga, Dagohoy, Talaingod, Davao del Norte through the provision of a sewing machine as income generating project for the Dagohoy Ata-Manobo Kababayen-an Association (DAMKAT) last December 14, 2022..
With this initiative, additional economic opportunities have been unlocked for the women and youth of the IP community in the said location. This is in support to the program of Kuya Gob Edwin I. Jubahib in strengthening the assistance to our lumad brothers and sisters.
As next steps, it has been agreed to continuously monitor and sustain the initiative for bigger development cooperation endeavors. Straightforward approach will be applied as all the Division of PADO-Operations will be involved in succeeding interventions to be provided to the beneficiaries such as: association development, assistance in marketing facilitation and basic financial literacy.

It was the first ever Davao del Norte Investment Conference aimed to hit millions of investment for the province in the agriculture sector frontlining Governor Edwin Jubahib's KAAGAPAY program, along with premier commodities like banana, bamboo, coconut and coffee. Likewise tourism and economic zones were amongst the target of gaining potential businesses that can benefit and improve the lives of all dabaonons.
Highlighted during the Governor's Night was the Musa Fashion Show featuring local runway models, designers and advocates in a parade of exquisite designs of the now-famous and internationally acclaimed fabric made out of banana.
The successful event was a joint project of the Provincial Government of Davao del Norte,the Department of Trade and Industry and all the local government units of the province.

The much-anticipated "Davao del Norte Investment Conference (DavNor ICon) 2022" convention, set for December 16-17 at the Davao del Norte Sports and Tourism Complex, is expected to showcase the province's potential and encourage more investors to come in given the province's vast investment potential.
The conference is in collaboration with the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI)โDavao del Norte Provincial Office and DavNor component local government units.
The theme, "Embracing Boundless Opportunities from DavNor to the World," is aimed at increasing investments in (A)gri-based products, such as (B)anana, and bamboo production, (C)offee and coconut, and providing an avenue to highlight (D)avNor tourism and its (E)conomic zones.
As regards to the promotion of tourism, on the 2nd day of the conference participants and non-participants alike can join the tour packages offered by the Provincial Government of Davao del Norte Tourism Division in partnership with Surelite Travel.

The provincial government of Davao del Norte and the Department of Trade and Industry-Davao del Norte are set to stage the first Davao del Norte Investment Conference (DavNor ICon) on Friday (16 December 2022) at Davao del Norte Sports and Tourism Complex in Tagum City.
DavNor ICon is expected to gather over a hundred investors, land owners, business people, and government partners. The event aims to strengthen the position of Davao del Norte as an investment hub in Davao Region, as it will showcase the great potentials for agriculture, agro-industry, manufacturing, and processing.
Moreover, with the presence of the investors and other stakeholders, the ICON intends to present viable investment projects and opportunities in the areas of agriculture, tourism, and other economic zones.

SP Committee on Cooperatives and Livelihood holds a committee hearing on a proposed provincial ordinance to support the livelihood program of the Province.
The Sangguniang Panlalawigan Committee on Cooperatives and Livelihood in its committee hearing on 28 September 2022, led an inter department review on the proposed Provincial Ordinance entitled โInstitutionalizing the Provincial Livelihood Assistance Programs and Services in the Province of Davao del Norte and appropriating funds thereof and for other purposesโ
The said ordinance which was authored by Board Member Emmanuel G. Pamisaran emphasized the central role of the Provincial Livelihood Assistance Program in Kuya Gov Edwin I. Jubahib's broad efforts to lay down the strong foundation for inclusive development in the province, and understands the need to institutionalize the same to guarantee the program is provided with the required institutional support and mechanisms.
The committee hearing was presided by Hon. Emmanuel G. Pamisaran. Committee members present during the hearing are Hon. Orly A. Amit, Hon. Shirley Belen Aala, Hon. Francisco Remitar, and Hon. Flopone Royle Catalan. Other guests united are: Assistant Provincial Administrator for Operations Engr. Maria Hazel C. Zafra, PADO-CIDD Head Engr. Humber D. The Provincial Administrator's Office of Davao del Norte joins the "Buhayin ang Pangangalaga sa Kalikasan" - a simultaneous nationwide tree planting activity in celebration of the 65th birth anniversary of President Ferdinand Romualdez Marcos Jr.
Kuya Gov Edwin I. Jubahib leads the provincial government planters contingent while the DENR, DILG, DTI and host LGU collaborated in spearheading the site preparation and main bamboo planting event in Brgy. Bobongon, Municipality of Sto. Tomas.

STRENGTHENING GENDER EQUALITY AND WOMEN EMPOWERMENT THROUGH ENHANCING TEAMBUILDING, NETWORKING, AND COLLABORATION IN WORKPLACE AND WORK PERFORMANCE EVALUATION ACTIVITY.
The Provincial Administratorโs Office-Cooperative and Investment Development Division (PADO-CIDD) of the Provincial Government, headed by Engr. Humber D. Cabunoc, ABE, MBA, EnP under the supervision of the Assistant Provincial Administrator for Operations, Engr. Maria Hazel C. Zafra, MMPA, EnP, has spearheaded the conduct of GAD Activity: โStrengthening Gender Equality and Women Empowerment through Enhancing Teambuilding, Networking, and Collaboration in Workplace and Work Performance Evaluation, last July 18, 2022, held at PADO-CIDD Office, DNSTC, Government Center, Mankilam, Tagum City, Davao del Norte.
The organization-focused activity addresses gender mainstreaming and issues within the workplace of the PADO-CIDD through capacity building of employees. Furthermore, the undertaken aimed to evaluate the work performance, planning sessions, and unmet targets for the first semester of CY 2022.
The activity commenced at 9:00 oโclock in the morning. After the opening ceremonies, the acknowledgment of the participants was to be introduced by the Master of Ceremony, Ms. Jeannie P. Celo, CDS II.
The Chief of PADO-CIDD, Engr. Cabunoc warmly greets the participants of the event. He emphasized the key to improving oneโs performance, particularly in the office. โWe will present the strategies that we will undertake to ensure that we able to attain what have not presentedโ, he said as he highlighted the action plan for the remaining portion of the second semester of CY 2022. Ms. Annabel A. Degorio, CDS II, then presented the house rules and expectations leveling.
A message was delivered by the Assistant Provincial Administrator for Operations, Engr. Maria Hazel C. Zafra, MMPA, EnP emphasized that the division's objectives and action plans for the remaining semester and onwards should be aligned with Kuya Gov Edwin I. Jubahib's new development agenda, which is transcribed as KUYA GOB NG MASA, and that this managed to help formulate new objectives for the second semester in accordance with the Office Performance Commitment Review (OPCR).
"Do not be complacent on your laurels; instead, strive to be innovative personโ. Even minor functions can contribute to the organization." Engr. Zafra stated as she evaluates workplace successes and extends a warm welcome to all participants of the assessment.
During the first part of the program, Senior Cooperative Development Specialist (CDS), Ms. Annabelle J. Baรฑaga as the resource speaker, presented and discussed the Gender and Development (GAD) Input to promote gender equality between men and women and other marginalized sectors in achieving economic, political, social and cultural empowerment, as well as to provide awareness and mentorship of gender issues in the workplace.
The presentation of work accomplishments for the 1st semester CY 2022 of the Entrepreneurial Development Section was presented and discussed by Senior Cooperative Development Specialist (CDS), Ms. Arden M. Caccam, while Ms. Baรฑaga presented the Work Accomplishments of the Organizational Development Section. Also, Engr. Cabunoc presented and discussed the Targets for the 2nd Semester, as well as its issues, concerns and recommendations.
After the presentation of work accomplishments and targets, Engr. Zafra provided mentorship to ensure that all necessary actions were taken to address issues and bottlenecks in work performance as well as administrative matters.
For his final remarks, Engr. Cabunoc expressed his gratitude to everyone who managed to make the event a success. He expressed his appreciation to Engr. Zafra for her unwavering support to the Cooperative Division.
As a whole, the PADO-CIDD Assessment was indeed a success, which can be attributed to the well-coordination and cooperation of all personnel who actively participated and demonstrated interest and enthusiasm. The evaluation concluded around 5:00 o'clock in the afternoon with the distribution of prizes and group photo opportunities.

PADO-EWDD holds WORK PERFORMANCE ASSESSMENT AND TEAMBUILDING FUNSHOP
The Provincial Administratorโs Office-Employment Workforce Development Division (PADO-EWDD) spearheaded by Ms. Gloria S. Pamugas under the supervision of the Assistant Provincial Administrator for Operations, Engr. Maria Hazel C. Zafra, MMPA, EnP, conducted the Performance Assessment and Planning Session for the Next Semester for CY 2022 and Teambuilding Activities last July 13, 2022, held at VIP Room, Clubhouse, DNSTC, Government Center, Mankilam, Tagum City, Davao del Norte.
This is to evaluate how the PADO-EWDD of the Provincial Government of Davao del Norte is making progress in terms of implementation of its Programs, Projects and Activities.
โBe PATIENT and you must continue to LEARN because those learnings will lead you to become the BEST VERSION OF YOURSELFโ. These are the key words of Engr. Zafra during her Welcome Remarks as she shared her experiences and milestones in the workplace.
On the first part of the program, Mr. Roldan Torreon, MBA, Administrative Officer V presented and discussed the Presentation of Accomplishment of the First Semester January-June 2022. Ms. Gloria Excelsa S. Pamugas, MSSW, Development Management Office IV and Division head of PADO-EWDD discussed the Ways Forward for the Second Semester July-December 2022.
After the presentation of work accomplishments, Engr. Zafra conducted the coaching and mentoring to the PADO-EWDD staff and employees. With her facilitation, she encouraged the team to collectively address the issues and concerns on the areas where accomplishments may have been lacking due to the recent election ban of activities, developed strategies, and finalized the catch up plan of implementation.
She also indicated that the division's objectives and action plans must be rooted in the new Development Agenda of Kuya Gov Edwin I. Jubahib for his second term which is transcribed as KUYA GOB NG MASA. This will help the division to shape their new targets for the second semester in accordance with the Office Performance Commitment Review (OPCR).
The next part of the activity included the Emotional Freedom Therapy: Tapping to Health by Natural Approach which was facilitated by Ms. Pamugas. This is to assist the team in managing their emotional responses and troubling thoughts, as well as reducing their anxiety and stress in the workplace.
Various Team Building Activitues were conducted. With this, the team were provided an opportunity to strengthen and improve the capacities and interpersonal relationships among PADO-EWDD personnel. The indoor group activities were held to foster a sense of camaraderie among team members.
Overall, the PADO-EWDD Work Performance Assessment and Teambuilding Funshop was a success. The assessment concluded around 4:00 oโclock in the afternoon with the distribution of certificates of participation and prizes, as well as group pictorials.
Our great apperciation to Kuya Gov Edwin I. Jubahib for his enormous support in all of the undertakings of the division and to our Provincial Administrator, Engr. Josie Jean R. Rabanoz for her directions to achieve the goals of the division as a component of the Provincial Administrators Office.

Highlighted in the visit is the discussion on the potential investments and partnerships between Japan and Davao del Norte.
