In celebration of Nutrition Month:
Barangay Bioto continued on it’s third (3rd) day of the scheduled activities for this month.

A “MOTORCADE” participated by the Barangay Officials headed by our active Brgy. Captain Hon. Eduardo Acevedo, Brgy Bioto Day Care
adviser ma’am Chenia E. Francuna, Barangay Nutrition Scholars and Barangay Health Workers. Followed by a short program and meeting for the upcoming activities.

To City Government of Tandag headed by our multi-awarded City Mayor Roxanne Pimentel for her unending support on Health and Nutrition activities. To the Tandag City Nutrition, for the guidance and support together with health and other activities, Barangay Bioto council, BNS, BHWs, Thank you all so much!

In celebration of Nutrition Month:

Nutrition Month is an annual campaign held every July to create greater awareness among Filipinos on the importance of nutrition as provided under Presidential Decree 491, or the Nutrition Act of the Philippines.

This year’s theme, HEALTHY DIET gawing affordable FOR ALL! aims to achieve food security, improve nutrition, and promote sustainable agriculture.

The Barangay Bioto headed by Hon. Eduardo Acevedo with Midwife Kathlyn Faith Labarro the members of the barangay nutrition committee, NGO's, stakeholders and nutrition program implementers supports the 49th Nutrition Month Celebration through active support, cooperation and commitment to nutrition program and aiming for a Nutritionally Healthy and improving the quality of life of Tandaganons.

“Give blood and Save Life” ❤️

Bloodletting Activity held at Barangay Bioto today June 29,2023. This activity is part of the National Voluntary Blood Services program aims to provide sufficient supply of safe blood and to regulate blood banks.
- 11 out of 16 were able to donate blood today.

Malnutrition negatively affects the immune system functionality and impairing protection from infections like Measles Rubella (MR), Poliomyelitis and other diseases.

On this regard, Barangay Bioto continues to combat malnutrition and 1 best practices is the Distribution of Nutripack and Multivitamins together with our Kagawad on Heath, Ma’am Gina Millanar. The supplies were given by Tandag City Nutrition Office while on going MR OPV SIA mop up for missed children.

Due to the increasing number of Suspected Cases and Confirmed cases of Hand Foot and Mouth Disease (HFMD) in Tandag City, Disease Surveillance Officer Rexona Trimidal, RN along with the Public Health Workers assigned in the Barangay, was ordered by the City Health Officer Ruth Arraz, to conduct IEC on HFMD on March 27 -31, 2023, in the community and day care centers, this City.

The purpose of this activity is to inform the Public, specially parents on the Pathophysiology of the disease, treatment and prevention.

BARANGAY BIOTO SCHEDULE: MARCH 29, 2023 (8:00am-12:00nn)

PROGESTERONE SUBDERMAL IMPLANT

The implant consists of a single, matchstick-sized rod that contains the hormone progestin. The contraceptive implant is inserted in the left arm of right-handed women and vice-versa, and can provide protection up to three years.
