On August 15, 2024, we celebrated the successful completion of the JobStart Philippines Program's Life Skills Training Completers at the KCC Mall de Zamboanga. Over a period of 10 days, from July 17-30, 2024, these 40 dedicated JobStart trainees, who were not in education, employment, or training (NEET), successfully completed their transformative training.

We extend our heartfelt thanks to Ms. Imelda F. Gatinao, Director IV of DOLE9, and Ms. Kimberly T. Amil, DOLE9 JobStart Coordinator for their invaluable support. Special recognition goes to our resource speakers, who shared their expertise during the training sessions. Their insights and guidance were crucial in equipping our trainees with essential life skills and preparing them for the job market.💙

Our appreciation also goes to PESO Manager, Mr. Jerico Jan Bustamante, PESO Coordinator, Mr. Juniebe Manganohoy, and the entire PESO staff, as well as Ms. Bianca Iraham, the PESO JobStart Focal, for their support and efforts for aforementioned program. We are also grateful to Dr. Anicia A. Alvarez, the President of Ferndale International School for graciously providing the venue for the training sessions.🫶🏻

A special thank you to City Mayor, John M. Dalipe for his unwavering support and commitment to the implementation of this program.

The PESO Staff emphasized the importance of preparation, confidence, and a positive attitude in securing employment opportunities. Jobseekers were given practical advice on how to present themselves professionally and how to make a lasting impression on potential employers.

PESO Zamboanga successfully conducted a virtual orientation and career coaching session for Jobstart Completers in preparation for the upcoming Sanguniang Kabataan Zamboanga City Federation Job Fair on August 15, 2024.

This initiative aims to equip participants with essential skills and knowledge to excel at the job fair and secure employment opportunities.

The Public Employment Service Office (PESO) of Zamboanga City, led by PESO Manager, Mr. Jerico Jan Bustamante, conducted a productive benchmarking visit to PESO Cagayan de Oro on August 8, 2024. This initiative aimed to enhance PESO Zamboanga’s services by learning from the best practices of PEESO TAGUM.

The Zamboanga City team comprised Mr. Juniebe L. Manganohoy- PESO Coordinator, along with staff members Ms. Chezka Dawne Q. Gregorio, Ms. Judie-Ann N. Ebol, Ms. Bianca S. Iraham, Ms. Sarah Jane S. Sta. Teresa, and Ms. Ira Mae M. Cuartocruz. Joining them were BESO Focals Ms. Kimberly Anne Villaflores from Brgy., Sta. Catalina and Ms. Sheryl Uro from Brgy., Baliwasan, along with Mr. Daren Antonio Torres, Area Coordinator of PBEd-YouthWorks.

The activities began with a courtesy visit to the Mayor of Tagum City, Hon. Rey T. Uy. Following the visit, the PESO Tagum City team, led by PEESO Tagum staff, facilitated an insightful exchange of knowledge and best practices of their office.

On August 6-7, 2024, the Public Employment Service Office (PESO) of Zamboanga City undertook a fruitful benchmarking visit to PESO Davao City. This visit was designed to draw valuable insights and practices to further enhance PESO Zamboanga’s service delivery.

The Zamboanga City delegation, led by Mr. Juniebe L. Manganohoy, PESO Coordinator, included Ms. Chezka Dawne Q. Gregorio, Ms. Judie-Ann N. Ebol, Ms. Bianca S. Iraham, Ms. Sarah Jane S. Sta. Teresa, and Ms. Ira Mae M. Cuartocruz. The team was also accompanied by BESO Focals Ms. Kimberly Anne Villaflores from Brgy. Sta. Catalina and Ms. Sheryl Uro from Brgy. Baliwasan, as well as Mr. Daren Antonio Torres, Area Coordinator of PBEd-YouthWorks.

The visit featured a courtesy call to Liga ng mga Barangay, Councilor, January Duterte, and a tour of Mayor Baste Duterte's Office. The team also had the opportunity to visit the newly renovated Sangguniang Panlungsod Session Hall of Davao City, where they met Vice Mayor Atty. Quitain Jr., City Councilor Atty. Sweet Advincula, and other members of the Sangguniang Panlungsod, in preparation for the 29th Regular Session and the State of the City Address (SOCA) of Mayor Sebastian "Baste" Duterte.

The benchmarking activity was facilitated by Ms. Lilibeth D. Pantinople, Supervising Labor & Employment Officer of PESO Davao City, and her staff. The exchange provided significant insights and strategies to improve PESO Zamboanga’s operations.

We are delighted to announce the remarkable success of the “JD Cares: Mini Job Fair", held on July 27, 2024 (Saturday), at Manicahan Elementary School, Zamboanga City. This event was a beacon of hope for many job seekers, providing a lot of job vacancies and creating immediate employment opportunities.

We proudly highlight the achievements of 𝙁𝙤𝙪𝙧 (4) 𝙖𝙥𝙥𝙡𝙞𝙘𝙖𝙣𝙩𝙨 𝙬𝙝𝙤 𝙬𝙚𝙧𝙚 𝙝𝙞𝙧𝙚𝙙 𝙤𝙣 𝙩𝙝𝙚 𝙨𝙥𝙤𝙩 during the event. Their dedication and readiness to embark on new career journeys were evident and rewarded.

The job fair attracted job seekers from Barangay Manicahan and surrounding areas, all eager to explore the vast array of career opportunities offered. In addition to job vacancies, the event featured comprehensive career guidance sessions aimed at equipping participants with the knowledge and skills needed to navigate their job search effectively.
