JUST IN: Pope Francis has appointed Fr. Rafael Cruz as the new bishop of Baguio.

The Holy Father Pope Francis has appointed the Rev. Fr. RAFAEL T. CRUZ, 64 years old, until now the parish priest of St. Ildephonse Parish, Malasiqui, Pangasinan of the Archdiocese of Lingayen-Dagupan as Bishop of Baguio. The appointment is made public today, June 20 in Rome at 12 noon (6pm Phil. time).

BLESS ALL FATHERS

This day is dedicated to celebrating the men in our lives who act as fathers. This includes dads, grandfathers, uncles, and any other male figure who has shown us love and support, both those still with us and those who have passed away. They've all given to their families without expecting anything in return. It's also a time to remember Saint Joseph, the role model for fathers everywhere. As the foster father of Jesus and husband of Mary, he represents the qualities we admire in fathers: devotion, strength, and care.

LET US PRAY FOR OUR FATHERS

Heavenly Father, you entrusted your Son Jesus, the child of Mary, to the care of Joseph, his foster father. Bless all fathers and grandfathers as they care for their families. Give them strength and wisdom, tenderness and patience, give them ability to love in a way that reflects your love. Support them in the work they have to do, protecting those who look to them, as we look to you for love and salvation. Help us to love them in a way that would bring honor to You and them. Bless and heal all those wounded by the imperfections of their fathers and grant an eternal rest to our fathers you have called from this life to yourself, through Jesus Christ Lord.

Established by Saint John Paul II in 2002, the World Day of Sanctification of Priests occurs annually on the Solemnity of the Sacred Heart of Jesus. On this day, priests are encouraged to reflect on the dignity of their vocation and be renewed in their priestly commitment to serving Christ and His Church. Let us Pray:

Divine Savior, Jesus Christ, who has entrusted the whole work of your redemption, the welfare and salvation of the world, to priests as your representatives, I offer you through the hands of your most Holy Mother Mary, this present day, whole and entire, with all its prayers, works, and sacrifices, its joys and sorrows, for the sanctification of your priests, and for all those preparing preparing for the priesthood. Give us truly holy priests, inflamed with the fire of your divine love, who seek nothing but your greater glory, and the salvation of souls. And you, Mary, good Mother of priests, protect all priests from dangers to their holy vocation, and with the loving hand of a mother, lead back to the Good Shepherd those unfortunate priests who, unfaithful to their exalted vocation, have gone astray. Amen.
