A PRAYER FOR SUCCESS

Genesis 24:12 (NLT) - “O LORD, God of my master, Abraham,” he prayed. “Please give me success today, and show unfailing love to my master, Abraham.

When was the last time you prayed for success? This is not an unspiritual prayer to pray for yourself or others. What does God have you involved in? Take some time right now to ask God for success.

“If anyone thirsts, let him come to me and drink.”

GOD’S PROMISES AND PROVISION

Genesis 21:1 (NLT) - The LORD kept his word and did for Sarah exactly what he had promised.

Genesis 22:13–14 (NLT) - Then Abraham looked up and saw a ram caught by its horns in a thicket. So he took the ram and sacrificed it as a burnt offering in place of his son. - Abraham named the place Yahweh-Yireh (which means “the LORD will provide”). To this day, people still use that name as a proverb: “On the mountain of the LORD it will be provided.”

REMEMBER:
1. God does exactly what He has promised.
2. This was Mount Moriah; the place God chose for the Temple. Abraham learned that provision flows in His house. In His house, in the place He has planted you, there is a spiritual flow of provision that will manifest in the physical world.

“He is not here, but has risen.”

GOD TAKES US OUTSIDE OF WHAT OUR HANDS HAVE BUILT TO GIVE US A BIGGER VISION

Genesis 15:4–6 (NLT) - Then the LORD said to him, “No, your servant will not be your heir, for you will have a son of your own who will be your heir.” Then the LORD took Abram outside and said to him, “Look up into the sky and count the stars if you can. That’s how many descendants you will have!” And Abram believed the LORD, and the LORD counted him as righteous because of his faith.

We will never see the greatness of what God wants for our future sitting inside what we have built with our hands, sitting inside our comfort zone. Sitting inside our accomplishments limits what we can see of what God can do. We need to be able to "visualize" to comprehend the greatness of His promise for our futures.

Look! And see the salvation of God for us!

WE MUST PAY CLOSE ATTENTION TO THE "WATCH OUTS" OF JESUS

Matthew 6:1–5 (NLT) - “Watch out! Don’t do your good deeds publicly, to be admired by others, for you will lose the reward from your Father in heaven. When you give to someone in need, don’t do as the hypocrites do—blowing trumpets in the synagogues and streets to call attention to their acts of charity! I tell you the truth, they have received all the reward they will ever get. But when you give to someone in need, don’t let your left hand know what your right hand is doing. Give your gifts in private, and your Father, who sees everything, will reward you. When you pray, don’t be like the hypocrites who love to pray publicly on street corners and in the synagogues where everyone can see them. I tell you the truth, that is all the reward they will ever get.”

You have often heard me say that when you hear the Scriptures give you a "watch out,” “beware," or "be careful," we must pay careful attention. Here, Jesus warns us about losing the blessings or rewards of helping others by "virtue signaling" or Facebook bragging, wanting to be seen by all the wrong people. Facebook "likes" are not relevant to heaven. It does not matter that people see what we did. It only matters that our heavenly Father sees what we did. He is the only one who can genuinely reward us.

Go and tell the gospel into the world.

TWO GREAT HINDRANCES TO DESTINY AND VISION

Genesis 11:31-32 (NLT) - One day Terah took his son Abram, his daughter-in-law Sarai (his son Abram’s wife), and his grandson Lot (his son Haran’s child) and moved away from Ur of the Chaldeans. He was headed for the land of Canaan, but they stopped at Haran and settled there. Terah lived for 205 years and died while still in Haran.

Genesis 13:14-17 (NLT) - After Lot had gone, the LORD said to Abram, “Look as far as you can see in every direction—north and south, east and west. I am giving all this land, as far as you can see, to you and your descendants as a permanent possession. And I will give you so many descendants that, like the dust of the earth, they cannot be counted! Go and walk through the land in every direction, for I am giving it to you.”

The first truth is to never stop in the place of disappointment and hurt. Notice, Terah was headed for Canaan but stopped in the city with the same name as his son who died. I have watched many people stop in the place of hurt and disappointment. But you must press on and follow God to your future. Do not park in your past. Secondly, partial obedience only receives a partial vision. God allows you to see the full vision when your obedience is full. Once Lot was separated (as God had commanded in Genesis 12:1-2) and thus Abraham's obedience was complete, God showed him the entire Promised Land. If you need guidance, first look at your lifestyle. Partial obedience will not release the full vision.
