Following Memo 24-25:21 released by the AdZU President’s Office on September 4, 2024, WORK and CLASSES will be SUSPENDED in the university on FRIDAY, SEPTEMBER 6, 2024 for the Institutional Recollection and General Convocation.

All members of the AdZU faculty and staff are enjoined to be part of the event.

The Office of Student Affairs, in partnership with the College Guidance and Counseling Office, is excited to present Conversaciones—an important advocacy event focusing on mental health awareness.

HOLY SPIRIT MASS | BUENAS, ATENEANS! We invite all college students, faculty, and staff to join us in celebrating the Holy Spirit Mass on Thursday, August 22, at 9:45 AM at the Multi-Purpose Covered Courts 1 (MPCC 1). This special occasion is a time for us to come together as a community, grounded in our shared faith and values. We encourage everyone to wear something red, symbolizing the presence of the Holy Spirit among us. Students may wear something RED instead of their usual uniforms.

INVITATION | Understanding Young Adults Day 2

The Ateneo de Zamboanga University Formation Office invites you to Day 2 of a special seminar titled “Understanding Young Adults”. This will be held on AUGUST 17, 2024, 9 AM, at the Multi-Purpose Covered Courts 1 (MPCC 1), Salvador Campus, La Purisima.

On this day, parents and guardians of the university’s students will be joining the Higher Education Unit faculty, formators, and student leaders for a vital informative dive into this relevant subject.

Guiding the participants will be the Executive Director of the EMMAUS Center for Psycho-Spiritual Formation Fr Jordan Orbe, SJ PsyD who will be sharing his indispensable knowledge concerning the topic at hand.

The learnings gained here will truly be of utmost importance when it comes to ensuring the holistic wellbeing of the school’s students.

JULY 31, 2024 | Feast Day of St Ignatius of Loyola

St Ignatius of Loyola has taught us to be compassionate and to always see God in all things. This spiritual path empowers us to find light in times of darkness – that even in the most painful of days, God remains with us. And with His grace and unfathomable wisdom, we can take steps towards healing.

As the Ateneo de Zamboanga University observes the Feast of St Ignatius today, we as a community gather in prayer for the eternal repose of the one we have lost and for the comfort of everyone who are mourning and coping from the pain.

May St Ignatius’s teachings become a beacon in these difficult times and be a reminder for all of us to journey through life a little kinder, a little more understanding, and a little stronger in faith and in love.

A peaceful and meaningful Feast Day of St Ignatius to one and all.

The Ateneo de Zamboanga University community mourns the tragic loss of one of our students. We extend our deepest condolences to the family and friends of our departed student.

We kindly ask the public to join us in prayer for the eternal repose of our student's soul and for comfort for those who mourn. We respectfully request that everyone honor the privacy and dignity of the bereaved family during this difficult time.

As a Catholic and Jesuit institution, we are committed to fostering a compassionate community. We encourage everyone to extend kindness and understanding to those affected by this loss.

As we prepare to begin the school year, we are reminded of the fragility of life and the importance of compassion in times of sorrow. We continue to provide support to our university community and remain dedicated to our educational mission, guided by our faith.
