An Orange Rainfall warning has been raised by the NDRRMC in Zamboanga City. ORANGE warning signifies that there is a threat of intense rain, flooding and landslide.

Personnel from the CDRRMO has been placed on heightened alert and was mandated to be on 24/7-duty shift.

Residents by the riverbanks and flood-prone areas are hereby advised to evacuate to higher grounds or to the identified evacuation sites.

Last December 22, 2022, Men and Women of Loyola had the annual Prison Outreach in San Ramon Prison and Penal Farm . The MWL Tradition of presenting gifts to the baby Jesus, whose face can be seen in the person deprived of liberty (PDLs).

We were able to provide Christmas care bags to 142 seniors citizens! The care bags contained toothbrush, toothpaste, face towel, body soap, shampoo, detergent, toilet tissue, alcohol and deodorant - essentials for every PDL!

December 08, 2021 | The Feast of the Immaculate Conception of Mary

Pure, incorruptible, immaculate – we offer our prayers to the most Blessed Virgin Mary on this sacred day.

The Feast of the Immaculate Conception is one of the most important Marian doctrines in the Christian Faith. Mother Mary’s sinless existence is undeniable and divine. Her faithful obedience to the will of God, her humility, and her incomparable grace makes her a perfect model of how a Christian life should be. Hers is a story that is an inspiration to us all. She is our Mother. Our guiding light. Our ever-loving guardian and protector.

It is an Ateneo de Zamboanga University tradition to honor the Immaculate Conception of Mary on this blessed day with a Solemnity Mass. We invite everyone to gather as one family in adoration of our Holy Mother. Let us offer our personal intentions and surrender ourselves to Mama Mary.

October 12, 2022 |The Feast of Our Lady of the Pilar 2022

With the City under Alert Level 1 and pandemic restrictions now relaxed, this year’s celebration of the Feast of Our Lady of the Pilar is a more special and livelier one.

As people the world over are now able to return to a state nearest to that of pre-pandemic days, everyone can once again enjoy liberties that have been robbed from them by the ravages of the COVID-19 global crisis.

Thus, here in Zamboanga City, the Feast of Our Lady of the Pilar or Fiesta Pilar is greeted with a level of enthusiasm unlike anything experienced before. There is a more palpable increase in the festive spirit of the Zamboangueños – this is a Fiesta Pilar that is closest to the one everyone remembers fondly before the pandemic struck. The grand opening salvo has returned. The parades are back. Attractions are setup attracting locals and tourists alike. Truly, the spirit of jubilation is still alive as ever in the City of Zamboanga.

The Ateneo de Zamboanga University invites everyone to take part in the activities set up by Zamboanga City’s local government honoring this year’s celebration of Fiesta Pilar. And to keep the merry-making safe and secure for one and all, minimum health protocols are still highly encouraged.

But above all, let us not forget the reason for the festivities. Let us offer our thanksgiving to Our Lady of the Pilar – Our Mother, who has been with us through thick and thin, who has continued to shower us with Her grace and blessings.
