Department of Plant Pathology, FA&E IUB is going to organize 8th International Conference of Pakistan Phytopathological Society (8th ICPPS-2023) ON ‘Sustainable Agriculture & Food Security” A Nexus of Plant Pathogens, Climate Change and Water Challenges’ on November 26-28, 2023.
All the global and national Plant Pathologists are encouraged to submit their abstracts for oral and poster presentations at the conference.

Plant Bulletin (P. Bulletin) is an open-access, peer-reviewed journal that publishes accepted articles in a minimum time after acceptance. The publications covered by P. Bulletin are research manuscripts as well as commissioned reviews, method papers (technical papers), and commentaries recommended by its referees in all areas of experimental plant biology with an emphasis on the broad areas of genomics, proteomics, biochemistry (including enzymology), physiology, cell biology, development, plant pathology, agronomy, horticulture, entomology, forestry, genetics, molecular analysis, functional plant breeding, systems biology and the interaction of plants with the environment.

The Faculty of the Department of Plant Pathology visited Shiekh Agriculture Farm at Chani Goth, Tehsil Ahmedpur East, Bahawalpur, on Friday, July 29, 2022. The Farm Manager, Mr. Muhammad Shafiq briefed about the advanced agriculture systems implemented on his farm to produce high-quality mangoes and citrus. He further explained how hard he had worked to develop a low-cost mango nursery for the mass plantation of mango orchards. He added that the farm management staff is following sustainable agricultural practice by applying the byproducts and farm wastes as biofertilizers and manures, which was evident to be highly beneficial for the vigor and health of the young mango plants.
The Chairman, The Department of Plant Pathology, Prof. Dr. Muhammad Naveed Aslam Malghani, not only appreciated the new systems provided at the farm but also guided the Farm Manager regarding further improvement’s in the farm mechanization technology and management of mango diseases, especially mango anthracnose and powdery mildew. Apart from diseases, the attack of thrips on the young mango nursery plants was also addressed, and low-cost and Environment-friendly remedies for their control were also suggested to farm management staff. He further explained the practices to revive the mango trees suffering from a decline to sustain the high-yielding plantation of more than 60 years of age. The Farm Manager, Mr. Shafiq, appreciated the Plant Pathology team from the Islamia University of Bahawalpur for visiting the farm and insisted on frequent visits so that the mango growers could benefit from the latest technology and research.
The purpose of the visit was not only to facilitate the farming community in diagnosing plant diseases at the farm level but also to guide how they can manage the plant diseases through integrated plant disease management, including all available resources such as cultural, physical, biological, and chemical practices.

Naveed Aslam Malghani answered the queries of Teaching Assistants and shared his thoughts about the further developments of the program.

Prof. Dr. Muhammad Naveed Aslam Malghani Chairman, Department of Plant Pathology, IUB visited University of Sargodha with HEC National Agricultural Education Accreditation Council (NAEAC). The purpose of the visit was the accreditation of Department of Plant Pathology University of Sargodha. During this visit the Chairman NAEAC and other honorable experts were also there. The HEC team was given briefing about the progress of various departments. The Worthy Vice Chancellor, UOS welcomed the team and awarded with Shields.
