While the quantification of construction waste is an almost exhausted area of research, there are no credible figures when it comes to the construction industry of P**istan. This comprehensive study gathered material waste data from 40 completed projects and not only quantified and benchmarked construction waste, but also estimated its impacts on project cost. Lastly, which subcontracting arrangements have better and worse material waste performance is assessed. This study can significantly help in improving the productivity, profitability, reliability, and sustainability of the P**istani construction industry.

Buildings consume a large amount of energy for space cooling during the summer season, creating an overall sustainability concern. The upfront cost associated with sustainability repels the decision-makers to often end up adopting solutions that have huge operations and maintenance costs. Therefore, the purpose of this study is to assess the lifecycle cost implications of optimum configurations of active and passive strategies for reducing the cooling load in buildings.

Delivery of sustainable buildings requires infusing sustainability criteria into project decisions. Hiring a suitable contractor and consultant for the delivery of green buildings is critical to ensuring sustainable procurement. Plus, introducing sustainability criteria in the prequalification process can improve stakeholder agreement on project objectives and help hire firms with appropriate experience in sustainable project delivery. We develop a cumulative sustainability performance rating index (CSPI) for the prequalification of consultants and contractors on green building projects.

The construction industry is different from other industries in terms of its unforeseeable working conditions. Unlike most of the other industries operating indoors within a controlled environment, the construction workers share a fair amount of time outdoors exposing them to different climatic and workability. These transfigurations contribute towards more vulnerability for workplace accidents. It has been observed that there is a common absence of formal construction safety training programs for fresh workers that result in work accidents. Instead, employees are expected to learn from their own experiences and mistakes. One of the main causes is the inability to understand safety training material by the masses due to its presence in uniform languages and lack of education. This study focuses on the development of a Construction Safety for All (ConSafe4All) framework to produce safety training modules for workers to overcome language restrictions. The demonstration through the developed modules for most occurring accident types shows that the framework may be used to elaborate different construction hazards with their remedies to enhance awareness among workers, thereby mitigating work-related accidents.

Construction organizations are challenged with the effective management of their human resource. But the state of practice in the developing countries is not encouraging and construction professionals found themselves less motivated and enthusiastic about their job. This pushes to study the motivational needs of construction professionals of different career levels. We benchmarked the HR practices of the construction industry of P**istan.
Read and reflect.

Healthcare facilities provide a cure from the ailment while maintaining a clean environment. A high indoor environmental quality (IEQ) can improve the recovery process and create a pleasant working environment, while a poor IEQ causes nosocomial diseases that are harmful to the patients as well as the hospital staff. To assess the state of IEQ in local hospitals, the current study investigates critical IEQ parameters.

The building sector is a major resource consumer and waste generator. The circular economy has the potential to overcome these problems, it offers a new perspective for industrial ecosystems including materials and products being fed back into the supply chain as resources. There is decent research on the circular economy but its current state and barriers in the building sector of developing countries are not studied. That’s where we come in!

Construction projects frequently experience delays. A construction schedule is instrumental in monitoring the whole process. Recently, BIM is remarked as an efficient and reliable construction management tool. This study investigates the role of BIM in identifying schedule risks and providing an effective solution for schedule management. It is found that BIM has a substantial impact on construction schedules.

BIM is an encouraging development in the AECO industry due to its data-rich digital representation of building components. Despite its technical maturity, BIM's legal and contractual systems are yet to be standardized. Therefore, this study offers a framework for legal and contractual risks within BIM. it contributes to the body of knowledge and practice by helping AECO community understand the current level of legal and contractual maturity of BIM, and by stimulating the technological and legal fraternities to sufficiently deliberate the contractual uncertainties in order to facilitate the uptake of BIM.

Deplorable safety management practices are damaging the reputation of construction sector. Though legislation has specified rules and regulations for safety improvement, the state of violation is still alarming. Its root causes are unavailability of information and lack of integration of core data with other project activities. BIM has the potential to address poor safety performance. The primary objective of this study is to review and analyze the literature on BIM through science mapping.

Owing to a great diversity of stakeholder involvement in construction projects and extensive heterogeneity of situations emanating from construction processes, conflicts among stakeholders are inevitable and require particular consideration. This research quantifies the effect of stakeholder conflicts on project constraints.
