Empowering mothers for a healthier tomorrow!  Shalamar Hospital's Mother and Child Health department, in collaboration with the Nutrition Department, hosted an informative session on child and mother nutrition during Breastfeeding Week.

A Successful Journey to Parenthood
After four years of marriage, a couple faced the heartache of conceiving naturally. Determined to overcome these challenges, they sought medical assistance from the Infertility Clinic at Shalamar Hospital led by Prof. Safia Sultana. ‘

Their perseverance paid off. The patient conceived through IVF and was carefully managed at Shalamar Hospital throughout her pregnancy. The couple's dream came true when they welcomed a full-term, healthy baby early this month. Today, both mother and baby are in perfect health, showcasing the triumph of modern medical science and the couple's unwavering hope.

Excited to share moments from the 38th Multidisciplinary Team Meeting (MTD) of the Department of Surgery at Shalamar Hospital! The MTD brings together clinicians from various departments to discuss oncological cases, leading to successful outcomes over time. The department has now also initiated the Hepatobiliary-Interventional Radiology MTD to improve patient outcome.

On July 30, 2024, Shalamar Institute of Health Sciences had the honor of welcoming a distinguished delegation from the Consulate General of the People's Republic of China in Lahore. The delegation, comprising Mr. Du Yue, Director of the Political Department, and Mr. Wang Yaqiang, Vice Consul, engaged in a fruitful visit to our institution.
Their visit included tours of various departments of Shalamar Hospital and interaction with students and faculty at the Shalamar Medical and Dental College and Shalamar Nursing College.
Through this visit, we look forward to opening of new partnerships opportunities in health care and health education with the institutions in the People’s Republic of China.

World Health Organization (WHO) WABA World Breastfeeding Week

The Department of Gastroenterology and Hepatology held a successful awareness walk on World Hepatitis Day to highlight the importance of combating hepatitis. A heartfelt thank you to all participants for your enthusiasm and support in spreading vital awareness.

Department of Mother and Child Health at Shalamar Institute of Health Sciences(SIHS) successfully hosted the RCOG Course on Basic Practical Skills in Obstetrics & Gynecology.
This essential course, led by Prof. Dr. Nazli Hameed, Chair IRC RCOG Pakistan and Chair Mother and Child Health at SIHS, equipped participants with the necessary skills and certifications required for advancing to ST level 3 in the UK and for MTI training aspirants. We're proud to be a part of our participants' professional journeys and their commitment to excellence in healthcare.
