Aalam Bibi Foundation
Aalam Bibi is an innovative educational model of community development. She had no experience of running a school and had limited resources.
The organization has a humble beginning, in year 2005 by FARAH DEEBA AKRAM at a young age and still herself a graduate student, started the school in a slum area of Chungi Amer Sidhu Kot Lakhpat, Lahore. She rented a small house in the locality and 60 students enrolled. The school was run solely by Farah Deeba Akram using her Pocket money and funds donated by her father. She was the alone teacher

They watched a powerful video on saving animals, and engaged in a lively discussion the theme"𝗧𝗵𝗶𝘀 𝗟𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗶𝘀 𝗬𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗟𝗮𝗻𝗱," showcasing their dedication to protecting our planet and its wildlife.

Our Story
An 18-year old undergraduate student and an ambitious writer who used to pen down lifestyle of people belonging to different strata of the society, one day while walking in the slums to see the life outside the posh areas of Lahore, gave biscuits to the street child who was constantly looking at her bag. “I don’t need the biscuits”, said the street child. “I wish to have a pencil and a copy from your bag”. This was one of the many incidents that inspired that young girl, Farah Deeba Akram, to work for providing the basic right of education to the street children. She was greatly moved by the quest of formal education shown by the street children.
Hence, under the shadow of a tree, the ABT School had its humble beginning in 2005 when Farah made a routine to go every day in the sub-urban industrial area of Kot Lukhput – then notorious for drug addicts and street criminals. Meanwhile, she rented a small house of almost 4-marla (80 sq. meters) in the same locality and converted that into a school building. She started a door-to-door campaign for the importance of education and enrolled 60 students in the first batch. Initially, the school was run solely by her pocket money and funds donated by her father. She was the only teacher and the administrator of the school. Soon, her family and friends joined her in the cause and started volunteering at the school.
In 2008, the renowned columnist and philanthropist Munno Bhai visited the school and wrote a column “nikki jae kurri”. Hence, the utmost dedicated, selfless humanitarian work of the young and determined Farah got nationwide attention. Many generous donors joined this social cause. With every passing year, the number of students got increased and currently, in 2019, there are 750 students studying from the playgroup to university level with the support of Aalam Bibi. Education has brought a positive change in the lives of children and their families and has already uplifted the community.
