The appointment marks another milestone in his distinguished career as he is set to assume the role of Vice Chancellor of University of Okara for a period of six months. He is expected to leverage his leadership skills to steer both educational institutions towards achieving their academic objectives and institutional goals. Many congratulations to our faculty member, Ms. Fouzia Yasmin (Lecturer in Economics) for effectively representing the institution and presenting her research at the highly reputed HIRC conference. The conference, which is held at the University of Otago in New Zealand, is a globally recognized platform for intellectual discourse and collaboration across various disciplines.

Ms. Yasmeen's selection for this prestigious event underlines her exceptional academic capabilities and contributions in the field of economics. It also reinforces the University of Sahiwal's commitment to fostering academic excellence and international collaboration.

Professional degree programmes, including Engineering, Medicine & Dentistry, Veterinary Education, Nursing, Architecture and Town Planning, Pharmacy, Law, Homoeopathy, Tibb, Agriculture, Business, Computing, Teacher Education, and Technology, require accreditation from the respective professional councils. To verify the accreditation status of your desired programme, please reach out to the concerned professional councils’ website.

For professional and non-professional programmes, it is equally essential to ensure that the admitting university or sub-campus is recognised by the HEC.

Today, the Department of Commerce distributed university-scholarships to students who met the criteria. This only happened due to the dedication of the department and university administration. It is our top priority to facilitate the students so they can continue their studies with determination.

On the recommendation of the worthy Vice Chancellor, Prof. Dr. Javaid Akhtar, a number of faculty members have participated in a three-day training program. This educational event was organized by the Punjab Higher Education Commission (PHEC) in Lahore as part of its 17th batch of the Faculty Development Program.

The training aimed to enhance teaching skills and methodologies among faculty members of HEIs. It provided opportunities for faculty members to learn innovative teaching strategies and tools that promote better student engagement and learning outcomes. This event manifests our continuous effort to provide an advanced level of education for its students.

Certificates were awarded to all attendees at the conclusion of the program by Chairman PHEC, Prof. Dr. Shahid Munir. The four faculty members, Dr. Muhammad Ayyoub (Director ORIC - University of Sahiwal & Focal Person for Faculty Development Program), Dr. Mushtaq Ahmad (Assistant Professor of English), Mr. Muhammad Shakeel Anwar (Lecturer Physics) and Ms. Maria Safdar (Lecturer Economics), who attended represent a commitment from University of Sahiwal to continuously improve teaching quality and enhance student experience.

The worthy Vice Chancellor, Prof. Dr. Javaid Akhtar, participated in meeting of the Board of Directors of University of Agriculture Faisalabad's Endowment Fund Secretariat (EFS)’s, which approved 17 projects of technology transfer, research and development, and product commercialization worth Rs 26 million meant for agricultural development and solving farmers' problems.

The meeting was presided over by UAF Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Iqrar Ahmad Khan while on this occasion, Agriculture University Peshawar Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Jehan Bakht, Sahiwal University Vice Chancellor Dr. Javaid Akhtar, Principal Veterinary and Animal Sciences University Narowal sub-campus Dr Muhammad Younas, Chairman Four Brothers Engineer Javed Salim Qureshi, Executive Director (ALP) Pakistan Agricultural Research Council Muhammad Arshad Farooq, Executive Director Endowment Fund Dr. Ejaz Ahmad Bhatti, Treasurer Umar Saeed Qadri, Registrar Tariq Mehmud Gill, Additional Director EFS Naeem Mehmood, Deputy Director EFS Aamir Saeed and others attended.

The meeting also approved annual budget of Endowment Fund Rs 241 million. The meeting lauded UAF wheat campaign, soybeans and other initiatives and expressed hope that the UAF will further flourish. It was agreed that academia-Industry linkages should be strengthened so that modern technology reaches the farmers as well as to tackle the challenges facing agriculture. The participants noted that knowledge-based economy is the guarantor of bright future. They urged the agricultural scientists to expedite efforts for agricultural prosperity keeping in view the real issue of the farming community. Furthetmore, the participants noted that agriculture was being developed on modern lines to ensure self-sufficiency to increase production per acre as well as reduce poverty.
